For a stay in Trnová, you can focus on several different things: the history of the church and the chateau, horseback riding or cycling. If you are looking for a hotel in Trnová, this distinction can help you decide how you would like to spend your time in the area. The details range from a bricked-up Gothic portal to the dimensions of the riding arenas and a described cycling route.

Church and cultural monument

The core of the Church of the Holy Spirit (Kostel sv. Ducha) dates from the first half of the 14th century. A bricked-up Gothic portal in the north wall of the nave points to this early construction phase. Trnová’s owner, Františka Terezie Minetti, née Fritschmannová z Ehrenkronu, had the church restored in 1720. Thus, the same building reveals both a medieval core and a later restoration with a specific date. The restorer’s gravestone remains in the floor of the nave to this day.

The building of Chateau Trnová was declared a national cultural monument by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic in 1994. The two cultural landmarks have different points of focus: at Kostel sv. Ducha, the emphasis is on architectural traces and a restoration, while at the chateau it is on its national monument designation.

Horseback riding and leisure

Jezdecký Areál Trnová has riding arenas measuring 20 × 50 m and 25 × 65 m, as well as a circular arena with a diameter of 18 m. The 25 × 65 m arena is larger in both stated dimensions than the 20 × 50 m arena; the circular arena, with its diameter, is a different format.

The facility rents out school ponies or horses for rides in the area around Cukrák and in the Brdy forests. It also offers riding lessons up to the ZZVJ riding licence exam. If you are planning a ride or lessons, confirm in advance whether rental horses and lessons are available on your preferred date.

The Dětské hřiště children’s recreation area in Trnová is intended for children aged 3 to 14. This age range can help you include this particular facility in your plans with children.

Cycling and getting there

One cycling tour passes through the village of Trnová and then joins the Mníšecko-Č. cycling route. Check route conditions before setting off. For local cycling information, the municipality has a page titled “Cyklotrasy Mníšecko” with a section called “Cyklotrasy Trnová.”

Biotop pod krčmou also adds a landscape project to the area’s attractions: as part of the revitalisation completed in 2021, the biotope and the adjacent pond were restored and cleaned. The pond was explicitly included in the same project.
