There are several ways to shape a stay in Vyžlovka: the municipal swimming area, a hike that starts and ends in the village, and nature and cultural attractions. If you are looking for a hotel, the activities you plan during your trip can help determine your priorities. Beach volleyball and paddleboards offer a different focus from hiking trails or historical connections. The sections below set out these options to help you decide which part of what’s on offer suits the reason for your trip.

Swimming Area and Activities

At Koupaliště Vyžlovka, you can play beach volleyball and rent paddleboards. The municipal beach at Přírodní koupaliště Vyžlovka has changing rooms, toilets and an outdoor shower. Beach volleyball and paddleboard rentals offer different activities, while the beach facilities add to the options available on site. If you include the swimming area in your stay, you can weigh these aspects separately when planning.

Hiking, Nature Conservation and Triathlon

The “Bučinami do Voděrad a zpět” hike starts and ends in Vyžlovka. It is described as an easy route and runs mostly along forest paths. The start and finish points, its easy rating and the fact that it runs mostly along forest paths give you different points of reference: the first details clarify its connection to the village, while the others describe the character of the route.

In the Voděradské bučiny Nature Reserve, visitors are required to stay on marked trails; plan your route accordingly. Kamenná studánka lies on the southern edge of Vyžlovský rybník, beside a red-marked hiking trail and a nature trail, at an elevation of 406 metres. These specific route references combine with an elevation figure to provide an additional topographical point of reference.

The Železný muž triathlon has been held regularly in Vyžlovka since 2000. In the elite event, the extended course enters Voděradské bučiny and is therefore open exclusively to mountain bikes. The event format may change; check the date and format for that year before travelling to the competition. This distinction is important when planning: the restriction to marked trails applies to visits to the reserve, whereas the mountain-bike requirement applies to the extended elite-event course.

Culture and History

Kaple sv. Václava was reconsecrated in May 2011, after donations were collected for its restoration in 2010. Selected ceramic finds from Ve spáleném are dated to the 13th–14th centuries. The time periods are clearly distinct: the finds date back to the 13th–14th centuries, while the chapel’s history here is marked by the fundraising in 2010 and its reconsecration in 2011. This brings together an archaeological period and a more recent history with specific dates.
