Pilníkov brings together heritage, a viewpoint, a nature trail through the Krkonoše foothills and local festival traditions. A cycling tour with a named route sequence also offers a specific starting point for planning your trip. The themes differ: heritage focuses on conservation designations, the trails on scenery and activity, and the festivals on specific traditions and programmes.

Cultural Monuments in Pilníkov

Kostel Nejsvětější Trojice is protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. The group of statues depicting the Assumption of Mary is part of the Pilníkov Urban Conservation Area. These are distinct heritage designations: the church has a stated protection status, while the group of statues is identified as belonging to the conservation area. If you take cultural monuments into account when choosing places to visit, this distinction offers a specific perspective on local history.

Streams, Viewpoint and Nature Trail

One specific watercourse connection concerns the Pilníkovský Stream: the Mlýnský, Prkenný, Starobucký, Vlčický and Volanovský streams flow into it and form it. The Na Spravedlnosti viewpoint is above Pilníkov and has a panoramic map of the eastern Krkonoše.

The Cesta za vyhlídkou nature trail leads through the tranquil scenery of the Krkonoše foothills in Pilníkov to a viewpoint overlooking the surrounding area. It is suitable for families with children and visitors seeking relaxation, and can be completed without strenuous effort. Check local conditions before your visit, as they may change. When choosing an outdoor destination, the difference is that Na Spravedlnosti is described as a viewpoint with a panoramic map, while Cesta za vyhlídkou follows a trail through the foothills.

Traditional Events

The Pilníkovský masopust has been held annually since 2016, except during the COVID pandemic. At the 2025 Masopust, stalls offered Masopust cakes and traditional products from home butchering: jelítka, tlačenka, bread with lard, prdelačka and ovar. The vendors and range of products may vary from one edition to the next. The food list includes both cakes and several specific products from traditional home butchering.

The traditional Pilníkovská pouť was announced alongside Children’s Day for Saturday, 6 June 2026, from 1:30 p.m. Fairground rides and competitions for children were planned for the event; a reduced fare for the rides was also announced. The programme also included a competition for the best fairground cake. The announced date and planned programme apply to this 2026 edition.

A Named Cycling Tour

The Pilníkov–Vlčice–Hrádeček–Chotěvice–Kocléřov–Pilníkov cycling tour passes through five named stops and returns to Pilníkov. This makes it easy to distinguish the route sequence from a single excursion destination. A regional route recommendation published in 2021 lists recreational cyclists, more experienced cyclists and families with e-bikes as suitable groups. Along with the nature trail, the tour offers another way to tailor your stay to your preferred activity: walking through the foothills or cycling the described route.
