From the spring, the excursion continues along a green-marked hiking trail, which is also designated as the K 25 marked cycle route.

Aichelburg: A Rocky Setting and Historical Details
The reconstructed Aichelburg Forest Castle stands on a rocky outcrop high above Temný Důl. The Aichelburg walking route is listed as 8.2 kilometres long. The development of the Aichelburg Trail is a separate matter: it was built in 2009 via the settlement of Honzův Potok. Markings, route details and trail conditions may change; check the latest trail information before setting out.
Aichelburg Forest Castle was formally opened on 9 September 1863. A bust of Count Berthold was placed in the stone castle hall. The bust on display at Aichelburg Forest Castle was made after a painting by F. Hauptfleisch, a modeller from the glassworks in Temný Důl.
Visitors can borrow keys at the Veselý Výlet Information Centre in Temný Důl or in Pec pod Sněžkou and use them to open the castle hall themselves. Seasonal access conditions may change; check them before your visit. This allows you to connect a visit to the castle hall with the historical details about its opening and the bust displayed there, without mistaking them for the same event.
Chapel and Industrial Monument
The Chapel of St. Anne was built in 1752 by Johann Bensch and his wife. The masonry chapel has a pyramidal roof crowned by a bell tower. It is considered one of the oldest religious structures in the eastern Krkonoše region. Its year of construction, materials and roof shape give the chapel its own architectural character, while its regional classification specifically refers to the eastern Krkonoše region.
The former Dix wood-grinding mill in Temný Důl has been a protected cultural monument since 1996. The three-wing industrial complex stands on the Úpa River and has an octagonal chimney and a former water inlet. The chapel represents the history of religious architecture; the former wood-grinding mill represents industrial architecture and traces of technology.
