Jakubčovice nad Odrou can be explored through its distinctive cultural and natural features. The town is home to a wooden bell tower and the Chapel of Panny Marie Karmelské; nearby are the Suchá Dora Nature Reserve, destinations along the Oder and named routes. When planning your stay, you can first decide whether to focus on historic sites, nature conservation or a tour.

Bell Tower, Chapel and Sandstone Cross

The wooden bell tower stands in the village square and probably dates from the late 17th century. Today, the municipality rings its bell only on special occasions, including during the Christmas holidays. Ringing is therefore not part of a regular daily routine; if you would like to hear it, plan your visit for a special occasion.

The Chapel of Panny Marie Karmelské, also called Schorschova kaple, was built in 1854. Services and rosary prayers are still held there; devotional dates may vary according to the local schedule. If you would like to attend a service or rosary prayer during your stay, check in advance for a suitable date. Beside the chapel stands a sandstone cross dating from the 17th century. The bell tower, chapel and cross thus bring together distinct historical dates and religious practices that are still maintained today.

Suchá Dora and the Oder

The Suchá Dora Nature Reserve protects a surviving natural habitat typical of the Oderské vrchy. Its features include rock outcrops and specially protected animal species. The area offers points of interest both for appreciating the landscape and for learning about its protection. The nature reserve is accessible without restriction; you can drive to within 250 metres. Briefly check local conditions before your visit.

There is also a specially protected area along the Oder: above the Jakubčovice nad Odrou weir begins the protected area of the European Site of Community Importance Horní Odra. It preserves the river as a habitat for the protected bullhead as far as its confluence with the Budišovka near Hadinka. Check for any local access restrictions before planning a visit to this area.

Circular Route, Cycle Tour and Pavlíkův Oak

The Jakubčovický okruh starts and ends at the ČD Jakubčovice n. / O. railway station. This gives the circular route a clearly defined starting and ending point for planning your tour. Another option is the Velký okruh Nízkým Jeseníkem II cycle route: it is 76 kilometres long and passes through Jakubčovice nad Odrou. You can choose between a circular route starting and ending at the railway station and a designated cycle tour that passes through the town.

Another natural landmark is the protected Pavlíkův dub, an English oak. It is 32 metres tall and has a trunk circumference of 365 centimetres; measurements like these can change gradually. The oak and the protected Oder landscape offer different points of interest: one focuses on a single tree with specific measurements, while the other is a stretch of river that provides a habitat for a protected animal species.

Na Skalce: Traces of Former Quarrying

The former Teltschik quarry at Na Skalce preserves concrete supports and foundation slabs as remnants of quarrying from the period before the Second World War. This site adds another kind of history to the historic buildings: rather than a chapel and bell, it features the structural remains of a former quarry. The ground may be uneven. Plan your visit with this in mind, and choose the places you visit according to your interest in architectural history, nature or the named routes.
