A trip to Křenovice can be planned around three themes: church architecture, other historical sites and clearly defined landscape features.

Village Setting, Churches and History

The Church of St. John of Nepomuk is the dominant landmark of the broad, elongated village green. It was built in 1887–1888 in the neo-Gothic style on the site of an original chapel. Its furnishings are also neo-Gothic and date from the time it was built. The connection between the former chapel, the new church and its furnishings offers architecture enthusiasts a tangible way to explore the history of the building.

Other sites also point to specific historical themes. The Chapel of St. Anne on Koráb was built in 1832 in gratitude for the end of a cholera epidemic. Hradisko u Křenovic is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Přerov District. The family crypt of the Vožď family is also located in the Křenovice cemetery. It is designed in the form of a chapel in the modern style of the 19th century. Together, these sites point to religious remembrance, archaeological significance and funerary architecture as distinct aspects of local history.

Landscape and Springs

The Křenovské louky are a registered significant landscape feature of the ecological ÚSES network. The natural biocentre near the Chapel of St. Anne includes two springs. The area locally known as Skaly adjoins this biocentre. The landscape themes therefore range from formal registration to springs and a specifically named connection between areas.

Water quality is also important when visiting the chapel: laboratory analyses from the summer of 2016 classified the water from the spring near St. Anne’s as non-potable. Do not drink it without current confirmation.

Places of Prayer and Regular Prayer

The Chapel of Panny Marie, Královny Míru is a small place of prayer in the countryside of the municipality of Křenovice near Kojetín. It is associated with the message conveyed in Medjugorje. The chapel is accessible around the clock; check access before your visit.

On the first Saturday of every month at 4 p.m., a regular prayer gathering of the Marian Večeřadlo takes place in the Church of St. John of Nepomuk in Křenovice near Kojetín. If you would like to plan your trip around this event, check the date and time in advance.

Choose the Focus of Your Trip

When looking for a hotel for your trip to Křenovice, you can match the local themes to the purpose of your trip. Is the history of the buildings and the village more important to you, or would you prefer to base your choice more on the landscape themes? This comparison can help you choose a destination based on your interests without presuming a particular itinerary.
