Krchleby lies in a hilly, partly wooded landscape. Cycling and hiking trails, along with traces of the past, offer different possible focuses for a stay. If you are looking for hotels in Krchleby, distinguishing between a cycling route that starts in the village, a route that passes through Krchleby, and destinations in the surrounding area can help with planning. The season is also relevant: the suitability of the terrain for cross-country skiing trips depends on snow conditions.

Cycling: routes and orientation

Cycling route 6203 starts in Krchleby and runs via Pobučí towards Jestřebíčko. It is 8 km long and rated easy to moderately difficult. Cycling route 6234 passes through Krchleby on the Jahodnice – Krchleby – Bušínov – Lupěné route. For choosing a route, route 6203 provides information on distance and difficulty; the sequence of places along route 6234 helps you understand its course.

In the surrounding area, quiet roads lined with long avenues of cherry trees make pleasant routes for cyclists. As road conditions can change, check them before setting out. There is also a rest area for cyclists with an information board in the centre of Krchleby. Visitor facilities can change; if you plan to stop there, check the condition of the rest area in advance.

Hiking trails and nearby destinations

Historical columns featuring a group of figures depicting the Holy Trinity mark the hiking trail from Mírov to Krchleby. Beyond Krchleby, a hiking trail branches off from the road to Pobučí and leads to the settlement of Dolní Bušínov, 1.5 km away. Dolní Bušínov is also known by the colloquial name Bozéňov and is a recreational area offering opportunities for sports and swimming in the local reservoir. There are therefore two different hiking options: the trail from Mírov to Krchleby and the branch to the nearby settlement.

Historical traces

Krchleby and Bušínov have been mentioned together in historical sources since 1273, in connection with the bishopric of Mohelnice. In the surrounding area, several attempts were made to mine iron ore and graphite in the mid-19th century; limestone was also extracted and burned to produce lime. The memorial to the victims of the First World War in Krchleby was erected in 1928. A chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary dates from 1920 and stands on the road from Mohelnice towards Maletín. The joint historical mentions date from much earlier than the attempts to extract raw materials and the memorials and buildings from the early 20th century.
