Dlouhá Třebová offers several thematic perspectives for planning a trip: religious buildings, protected monuments, memorial sites and a cycling connection through the town. If you are looking for a hotel in Dlouhá Třebová, these themes can help you shape your stay around your own interests. The highlights range from architecture and features to public commemoration and a route between two towns.

Churches, chapel and historical dates

The church Kostel sv. Prokopa was consecrated on 8 December 1906 and was built in the Neo-Gothic style. The term refers to a later adoption of Gothic design forms. The church houses the Prokop bell, which was acquired in 1753. The chapel Kaple sv. Josefa was built in 1898 and contains a painting of Saint Joseph donated by Josef Šár. Different features matter when making a comparison: for the church, the consecration, style and bell are key; for the chapel, the year it was built and the donated painting.

The years refer to different historical events: 1753, the acquisition of the bell; 1898, the construction of the chapel; and 1906, the consecration of the church. This makes it possible to place the bell, chapel and church in their historical context without treating the dates as equivalent construction years.

Protected monuments and tradition

The Socha sv. Jana Nepomuckého was erected on 27 June 1826 and is a state-protected cultural monument. The Socha sv. Prokopa is also a protected monument; it is life-size. Annual processions to this statue continue to take place. The Socha sv. Prokopa therefore combines a specific size and protected status with an ongoing tradition. The Sousoší Nejsvětější trojice is made of sandstone, was acquired in 1887 and has been a cultural monument since 1996. For this group, the year of acquisition and the start of its monument status mark different stages.

Two memorial sites

The Památník Obětem válek commemorates the men who did not return from the battlefields of the First World War. The monument includes a lion made of Hořice sandstone. After its reconstruction in 2014, the grounds were landscaped like a park and made fully accessible. The Pomník svobody is a stone memorial mound in the central part of Dlouhá Třebová. The structure was erected in 1924 and features bronze emblems of Jan Hus, Jan Žižka and Tomáš G. Masaryk. The two memorial sites differ in what they commemorate: the First World War is the focus of the Památník Obětem válek, while the Pomník svobody is a memorial mound featuring three bronze emblems.
