Dobříkov: Wooden Church, Monuments and Nature
Accommodation in Dobříkov
You can explore Dobříkov through several distinct themes: a wooden church, monuments with different historical connections, Ptačí park Rzy and a nine-hole golf course. If you are looking for a hotel in Dobříkov, these cultural, nature-related and sporting attractions can help you choose the focus of your stay.
Wooden Church and Monument History
Dobříkov’s wooden church was built in 1679 in Velká Kopani, in what is now Ukraine’s Zakarpattia Oblast. On 27 July 1930, it was moved to Dobříkov. Its history therefore includes two clearly dated events: its original construction and its later transfer. The church has been listed as an immovable cultural monument since 1963. You can arrange visits through local contacts.
Na Valech and Other Monuments
The V. J. Klofáč Memorial is located in the fortified area known as “Na Valech.” The cultural monument comprises a forester’s lodge, the Klofáč Villa, ramparts, a moat, a cellar and a belvedere. Its features thus range from buildings to elements of the fortifications. The monument and the area are open by arrangement, both during and outside the season.
The statue of Jan Hus also combines a vivid description with clear dates: it is about five metres tall and made of fine-grained yellow sandstone. It was unveiled on 25 August 1912 and declared a cultural monument in 2004. The two dates mark different events—the unveiling and its later designation as a monument.
The War Memorial is a four-metre-high sculpture on a sandstone plinth. It commemorates residents of Dobříkov and Rzy who fell in the war of 1914–1918. The granite monument “Dobříkovským z Malejova,” bearing a bronze coat of arms of the Dobříkovský z Malejova family, also stands in the upper village square. Another connection to local history is the old wooden bell tower, which was restored by residents in 1989. The monuments thus reflect different points of reference: war casualties, a family coat of arms and the restoration of a structure by local residents.
Birdwatching at Ptačí park Rzy
Ptačí park Rzy lies between Rzy and Dobříkov, in the floodplain of the Loučná stream. A total of 213 bird species have been recorded in the park. Around 100 species breed in the wetland and its immediate surroundings. The figures relate to different areas; future observations may change them.
The wetland is an important breeding area for numerous wetland and meadow birds, a key stopover during migration and a year-round food source. The water area can be viewed from several spots. The park is accessible via Zámrsk railway station and by car. As local conditions can change, check access and observation options before your visit.
A Sporting Attraction
Dobříkov also has a nine-hole golf course for sporting use. Alongside historical and nature-related attractions, golf is another local feature to consider when planning your stay.
