Discover Mistrovice
Accommodation in Mistrovice
Mistrovice lies in the foothills of the Orlické Mountains; elevations range from 397 to 591 metres. The highest point, a separate viewpoint, a walking route through the village, and natural and cultural heritage offer different starting points for planning your trip. You can tailor your choice of stay in Mistrovice to your interests—for example, trails, nature or history.
Highest Point and Viewpoint
At 591 metres, Židův kopec is the highest point in the municipality. There are two ways to reach the hill: via a farm track from Hubálkův statek No. 112, or via a footpath from Malův kříž on the road to Sloupek. When planning your visit, you can choose between a farm track and a footpath, each with a different starting point.
U lipek at Malových lip is a separate destination for views of the surrounding area, a viewpoint at an elevation of about 537 metres. It can be reached via a farm track that starts on the road by house No. 50 and passes houses No. 154, 48 and 49 towards the hill. The elevation is approximate. Unlike Židův kopec, for which two starting points are given, the directions here follow a sequence of house numbers. This helps you distinguish between the two viewpoint destinations: the highest point in the municipality and the separate viewpoint near Malových lip.
Hiking and Nature
The Jablonné nad Orlicí–Letohrad walking route passes through Mistrovice. If you are planning a trip that takes in a route between these two places, Mistrovice is one section of it. The route offers a different way to experience the village than the individual paths to the high points: it passes through Mistrovice, while the directions for Židův kopec and U lipek each lead to a specific destination.
The Sutice Nature Reserve lies between Mistrovice and Verměřovice, on the right bank of the Tichá Orlice, and is part of Orlice Nature Park. Its protected flora includes střevíčník pantoflíček, sleziníky and břečťan popínavý. If you are interested in plants, this offers a specific nature-related focus alongside the viewpoints and hiking route described above. Its riverside location and inclusion in the nature park also give Sutice a distinct geographical setting: the reserve lies between two places and is connected with Orlice Nature Park.
Church and History
The Church of St. John and Paul (Kostel sv. Jana a Pavla) in Mistrovice is a Neo-Romanesque building dating from 1876 and has been protected as a cultural monument since 1998. It is a branch church of the Roman Catholic parish of Letohrad, where services are held regularly. If you would like to attend a service during your visit, check the service times separately in advance. The construction year, heritage protection status and religious function each highlight a different aspect: the date places the church in its historical context, while its parish affiliation describes its religious role.
