Oucmanice combines a compact, circular village layout and traditional farmhouses with cycling and hiking trails and a number of cultural sites. A stone cross and the Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity stand in the village square; the routes vary in starting point and character. If you are looking for a hotel for a stay in Oucmanice, you can decide on your focus in advance: local history, cycling, hiking or environmental education. The following sites and routes provide specific points of reference.

Village Character and Culture

Preserved traditional farmhouses shape the compact village landscape. A stone cross dating from 1876, with reliefs of saints, stands in the village square. The Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity is also located there: the Neo-Baroque building dates from 1868 and has been protected as a cultural monument since 1958. The chapel stands at the end of a chestnut avenue. The village square is therefore home to two distinct local landmarks: the cross with its reliefs of saints and the chapel with its own architectural history.

An Earthwork in Hradníky

In Hradníky, ramparts and a ditch approximately 80 metres long have been preserved from an earthwork dating to the Late Bronze Age. The site was also used in the Early Middle Ages. The dating reveals two distinct periods of use; the approximate length refers to the ditch. The preserved ramparts and ditch can thus be identified as specific features of the archaeological site.

Cycling and Hiking Routes

Cycle route 4049 connects Ústí nad Orlicí with Oucmanice. It is moderately difficult, paved and suitable for all types of bicycles; surface conditions may change. So check the current condition of the route before setting out. The information on difficulty and surface provides a specific reference point when choosing a route, but does not replace checking conditions on site.

A route description published in 2021 outlines a hiking route from Choceň railway station via Oucmanice to Brandýs nad Orlicí. This is distinct from the route from Oucmanice to Brandýs nad Orlicí via Klopoty, which is part of a nature trail established by Ekocentrum PALETA. The different starting points and routes are therefore clearly identified. Check local trail conditions before your hike; this also applies to the section via Klopoty.

Nature Activities and Events

Ekocentrum PALETA in Oucmanice offers programmes featuring hands-on activities with natural materials and lessons about ecosystems. The centre also runs summer camps for families with children. The programmes combine practical work with natural materials and the exploration of ecological connections; the summer camps are a separate seasonal offering.

One specific example of an event is Cyril and Methodius Day of Crafts: the programme for the edition held on 5 July 2026 at the sports ground in Oucmanice included demonstrations of traditional crafts and activities for children. These programme details apply to the 2026 edition and illustrate the festival’s thematic focus.

A sign with a map of the municipal area and marked points of interest in the village helps visitors find their way around Oucmanice. Cyclists can also use a junction of cycling routes and a rest area built by the municipality. Check the condition of this local infrastructure on site before your visit.
