Přívrat – Hiking Trails, Landscape and Culture
Accommodation in Přívrat
Přívrat lies in the upper reaches of the Kozlovský hřbet ridge, near the pass crossed by the road from Litomyšl to Česká Třebová. The landscape and seasonal activities offer different points of reference when planning a stay: the area has marked trails, cross-country skiing opportunities in winter, and downhill slopes at the Ski Areál.
Ridge, Forest and Ponds
The Zacharovce forest area lies in the northern part of Přívrat. Continuous belts of woodland also run along the edge of the cadastral area. Water is another defining feature of the local landscape: Přívrat has five ponds—the Dolní Přívratský rybník, Trucovný rybník, Prostřední rybník, Komárek and Horní rybník. Their names help to identify the local landscape more precisely.
Visitors who enjoy experiencing different sides of a place will find both woodland and several ponds here, as well as a ridge as a geographical reference point. Přívrat’s location near the pass also connects it to the landscape between Litomyšl and Česká Třebová, without presupposing any particular way of getting there.
Marked Trails for Walking and Winter Use
Marked hiking trails connect Přívrat with the surrounding towns. In winter, these trails around Přívrat can be used for cross-country skiing. The way the same trails can be used therefore depends on the season. Check the route and conditions before setting out.
Another specific walking route leads from Přívrat to Dlouhá Třebová: the walk is about 3 km long and takes approximately 35 minutes. The distance and time are estimates; also take local conditions into account when planning. This provides a separate time estimate alongside the marked trails connecting the area with surrounding towns.
Winter Activities at Ski Areál Přívrat
Ski Areál Přívrat has downhill slopes for alpine skiing and snowboarding. Cross-country skiing on the marked trails around the village is a separate activity and use of the trails.
The public ski lifts operate daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the winter months, provided there is sufficient snow. Operations are also subject to the operator’s decisions. Before your visit, check the current lift status so that your plans take snow conditions and the operator’s decision into account.
Culture and Local History
A monument to Karel Kovařovic commemorates the composer’s stay in Přívrat. He composed the opera Psohlavci here in 1896. Another local monument is the cast-iron cross near house number 48. It is registered as an immovable cultural monument and was restored in 2005.
Přívrat is also home to the branch church of sv. Františka Xaverského. If you would like to attend a service, check the relevant information in advance. This helps distinguish a visit to the church from the other cultural landmarks in the village.
Music is also part of the local cultural history: the international Antonína Bennewitze Music Festival has borne his name since 1999 and includes a concert in Přívrat. Antonín Bennewitz was born here. Individual program details vary, so check the dates before visiting.
Festivals and Seasonal Activities
Přívratské Vinobraní dates back to a local tradition from the 1930s and was revived in 1987. The festival features, among other things, wine, Burčák and traditional potato pancakes. The selection may vary. The festival’s history and the foods mentioned give Vinobraní its own place alongside the cultural monuments and music events.
The PINGUin park in Přívrat offers a seasonal activity: children and adults can try a bungee trampoline there. Operating conditions and availability may change; check them before visiting. Together with the winter activities, this offers different seasonal options for planning, although not every activity is available in every season.
