Zbudov: Hiking and Cycling
Accommodation in Zbudov
Zbudov can be considered as a place to stay based on its marked trails, various cycling routes, and a protected rural house. At the “Zbudov, Samoty” trail signpost, marked trails lead in four directions. The signpost is at the edge of the forest above the Pastviny Reservoir. This gives visitors concrete points of interest to consider when planning a trip that includes hiking, cycling, and local features.
Hiking and Navigation
A red-marked trail leads downhill from the signpost, past the church, to Klášterec nad OrlicĂ. If you plan to go this way, check the markings on site. The signpost is also a specific point of reference for the trails that lead from there in four directions. This allows you to coordinate your choice of hiking route with the day’s plans without assuming a particular walking time.
Near Zbudov is the protected rocky stretch of Zemská brána on the Divoká Orlice, close to the Pastviny Reservoir and Klášterec nad OrlicĂ. This natural area is also relevant to the cycling routes: several of the routes described pass through the Zemská brána area and its surroundings. When planning, you can therefore consider not only the time estimates but also the landscapes along the routes.
Two Moderately Difficult Cycling Routes
The red “Kunvaldská” cycling route and the light blue “Zaberská” cycling route both pass through the Zemská brána area and its surroundings. Each route has a starting point in Zbudov with an information board. Both are classified as moderately difficult. The estimated riding time, without breaks, is 1.5 hours for the Kunvaldská and two hours for the Zaberská. The estimates differ by half an hour, while both routes have the same difficulty rating. This gives you a concrete basis for planning your time, but does not indicate different difficulty levels. Route details are for guidance; check the markings on site before setting off.
Another Cycling Route and the Landscape
Another cycling route is named “From Klášterec nad OrlicĂ via Potoky and Amerika and back again” and starts in the Zbudov district of Klášterec nad OrlicĂ. It follows the ÄŚernĂ˝ potok, whose banks are lined with wooded rocks, and joins the blue-marked trail from Zemská brána. The route passes through a valley protected on three sides by slopes and forest, with the ÄŚernĂ˝ potok flowing through it. This description of the landscape gives you another way to choose a route, beyond the estimated riding times for the Kunvaldská and Zaberská.
Zbudov lies in the Ĺ˝amberk–KrálĂky CHOPAV protected water management area. The protected rural House No. 13 is also located in the village. Alongside the trails and landscape, this provides a specifically identified protected building as a feature of the destination. Together, these different aspects help you consider Zbudov as a place to stay and weigh your own interests when planning.
