The Chapel of Saint Bartholomew on Kostelík Hill was founded in the second half of the 16th century. In 1843, it was expanded into its present form.
Culture and History
The Baroque altar with a painting of Saint Bartholomew dates from the early 17th century. In 1834, the Baroque Chapel of Saint Anne was built in Svéradice on the site of a smaller chapel. It was formerly dedicated to Saint Bartholomew. Svéradice is also home to a private agricultural museum.
The historic buildings and the museum represent different cultural focal points. Between the religious references and the other features of the locality, the focus shifts from architectural history to local agriculture.
Cycling and Hiking
Two local cycling trails pass through Svéradice. A blue hiking trail also passes through Svéradice, connecting Oselce, Chanovice and Horažďovice. Svéradice is the fifth stop on the “Po stopách minulosti” route. For cyclists with trekking bikes, this route is rated as easy to moderately challenging. Along the route, Svéradice offers opportunities for food and refreshments.
Cycling and hiking therefore stand alongside each other as different forms of activity, while the historic route has its own name and difficulty rating. If you would like to combine several interests, you can consider cultural, active and tradition-related topics separately; no particular order follows from this.
Several distinct focal points stand alongside one another in Svéradice: sacred history and agriculture, cycling and hiking, the historic route, pilgrimage, and landscape connections. Considering these topics separately allows you to compare cultural, active, tradition-related and geographical interests without linking them into a fixed sequence.

The landscape references use a different scale from the paths through the locality. They range from named hills in the immediate vicinity, through a ruin in the surrounding area, to mountains in the wider regional area.
Tradition
After a year, the traditional Bartolomějská pouť pilgrimage returned to Svéradice. The pilgrimage represents its own tradition-related feature alongside the buildings, the museum and the trails.
