Zbůch offers several distinct themes for your stay: mining history at the Mining Museum, late Baroque chapels, a village square layout shaped by the Middle Ages, as well as disc golf and a bicycle service point. If you are looking for a hotel, distinguishing between these interests can help: culture and local history sit alongside active leisure pursuits. The following places and activities show what Zbůch has to offer as you plan your trip.

Mining History at the Mining Museum

The Mining Museum in Zbůch was expanded in 2021 with an outdoor exhibition. Visitors can enter a representative mine gallery, which is a faithful replica of a coal mine and the miners’ workplace. Most of the objects were donated by miners and people from the surrounding area. The collection and outdoor exhibition thus offer different perspectives on mining: individual objects on the one hand, and a recreated working environment on the other.

Chapels and Historic Village Landscapes

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary is located in the centre of Zbůch. The late Baroque building was probably constructed before 1850 and was declared a cultural monument in August 2003. Services are held there every Saturday at 1:30 p.m. throughout the year. If you would like to plan your visit around a service, it is advisable to check the service time locally before your visit.

The Chapel of Saint Anne is located in Červený Újezd, which merged with Zbůch in 1960. It is also late Baroque and was declared a cultural monument in August 2003; its construction is probably dated to the first half of the 19th century. The two chapels share a style and the year they were designated monuments, but their dates are described differently: before 1850 for the Chapel of the Virgin Mary, and the first half of the 19th century for Saint Anne.

The village square in Červený Újezd is also part of the area’s history, with its layout shaped by the Middle Ages preserved to this day. Alongside individual religious buildings, the shape of the square itself is also a historic feature.

Disc Golf and Bicycle Services

Zbůch’s disc golf course was officially opened on 6 May 2024. It has six holes, is located in the forest park behind the V cihelně sports complex, and is open to the public free of charge. Discs are available to borrow. Disc golf is therefore a well-defined leisure activity for travellers who would like to include an active pursuit in their plans.

The “V Cihelně” Cyklopoint adds a bicycle service point to the leisure facilities. It offers a bicycle charging station, bicycle tools and a map, and is located by the popular V Cihelně restaurant. The three facilities address different practical needs: charging, access to tools and finding your way with a map. For cycle tourists, this provides a specific point of reference during a stay in Zbůch.

Disc golf and the Cyklopoint cater to different interests: one offers a game with a course, while the other provides practical bicycle facilities. This makes it easier to choose the kind of leisure activity that suits you.
