Different travel interests can be distinguished in Doubí: nature, cycling and a local building. The Lužnice Natural Monument, the Lužnická Cycling Route and the chapel “Kaple v Doubí” each offer a different perspective. When planning your stay, you can consider whether you are particularly interested in protected species, a route or a building.

Lužnice Natural Monument and protected species

The Lužnice Natural Monument protects rare and endangered species and their habitats. The protected species include the critically endangered thick-shelled river mussel (Unio crassus), the endangered weatherfish (Misgurnus fossilis) and the critically endangered Eurasian otter (Lutra lutra). Their conservation statuses range from endangered to critically endangered; the examples include a mollusc, a fish and a mammal. Protection therefore focuses both on individual species and on their habitats. Anyone interested in nature conservation will find a tangible connection here to the species and habitats protected by the natural monument.

The natural monument extends into the cadastral area of Doubí nad Lužnicí. This precise location helps identify the protected area’s geographical context: the cadastral area into which it extends is specified. The focus here is therefore on the connection between protected species, their habitats and the cadastral area.

Cycling route with a forest section and a river connection

The Lužnická Cycling Route passes the Doubí railway stop and turns onto a forest path. After the forest section, it approaches the Lužnice again. This sequence gives you a clear sense of the route described: the stop, the turn onto the forest path and the later approach to the river. The name Lužnice thus appears in two different contexts: the natural monument protects species and habitats, while on the cycling route the river is a reference point after the forest section. Trail conditions can change, so check them locally before cycling.

The “Kaple v Doubí” chapel

The “Kaple v Doubí” chapel is located in the cadastral area of Doubí nad Lužnicí. For travel planning, it adds a focus on a building to the questions of nature and routes. If you would like to consider local buildings as well as protected species and a cycling route, you can treat the chapel as a separate point of interest.

A hike with a dated event

The Klub českých turistů Tábor planned a hike for 29 August 2026 from Doubí along the Lužnice to the Soukeník weir and on to Sezimovo Ústí I. The planned route names Doubí as the starting point and proceeds first to the weir and then to Sezimovo Ústí I. The date has now passed; for a later stay, check current hiking dates rather than planning around the past event as if it were still upcoming.

The cycling route and the hike offer different points of reference for planning: the cycling route describes the progression from the stop via the forest path to the later approach to the Lužnice. The hike plan specifies a starting point, two destinations and a fixed date. Current trail conditions are relevant for the cycling route; for a future hike, check for an up-to-date date. This makes it possible to consider the two activities in terms of their respective routes and timing.
