Discover Bukovice
Accommodation in Bukovice
If you are considering Bukovice as a destination for a hotel stay, you can choose where to go based on different interests: scenery, paths, culture and local customs. Views of the Tišnov valley, the ponds and individual historic sites each offer a different perspective. For planning your trip, the landscape and the village’s history are two distinct points of focus.
Scenery and walks
Bukovice lies in the Hornosvratecká vrchovina at an elevation of 450 to 480 metres above sea level, on the northeastern side of a gentle rise. From Bukovice, you can look out over the Tišnov valley. The elevation places the village within the landscape; the valley view adds a specific vantage point. If you want to take the surroundings into account when choosing your destination, both features are useful points of reference.
Locals consider the Pod MyšnĂkem pond a popular destination for walks. It was created in 1998 by Ing. Haška. A path leads to two ponds in the lower part of Bukovice. At the edge of the meadows stands the forest monument “PamátnĂk lesa,” dedicated to the local forests and offering a place to rest. The pond and the forest monument have distinct, explicitly stated associations: walks at Pod MyšnĂkem, and rest and the dedication to the forests at “PamátnĂk lesa.”
Paths and cycling
One route passes the Chapel of St. Anne and then follows an asphalt road to the Pod MyšnĂkem pond. This sequence connects a cultural site with a specific pond destination. A stone table and a place to sit were installed to mark Bukovice’s 750th anniversary.
The “Železné výhledy” cycling route is rated as moderately difficult. The official route information was last updated in 2015; check conditions before setting out. The difficulty rating and the date of the last update are two separate planning considerations: the rating describes the route, while the update date is a reason to check conditions before your ride.
Chapel and local history
The Chapel of St. Anne was renovated in 2005, including its shingle roof and an automatic bell-ringing system. A nearby cross stone still bears a recognisable relief of a Golgotha cross. These are two distinct cultural and historical details: the renovation of the chapel and its specific features, and the visible relief on the cross stone.
Customs and events
The Easter custom “VelikonoÄŤnĂ mrskut” involves groups of boys and men, and occasionally visitors, going from house to house in the village. This tradition is a village practice, rather than a single building or route. On 16 September 2023, the 17th children’s fishing competition, “BukovickĂ˝ kapr,” was held at the Pod MyšnĂkem pond.
Seasonal walks
A description from 2021 presents a walk through the winter or spring landscape around Bukovice and Rohozec as a peaceful option. Another description from 2021 outlines an informal route from Rohozec, following the LubÄ› and passing through a wooded valley to Bukovice. The difference in choosing between them lies in their focus: the first description emphasises the season and peaceful character, while the second focuses on direction and route.
