Malešovice combines a townscape shaped by protected architectural and sculptural works with nature-related features around the Jihlava. The signposted Brno Wine Trail also passes through the town. This gives visitors several distinct themes to explore when planning their trip: cultural history, river landscapes and cycling.

Church and protected monuments

The Church of Saint Stephen is a prominent landmark in Malešovice and a protected monument. Its Gothic core dates from the 14th century; the tower has a four-sided clock. The church grounds also contain a stone cross dating from 1771. Together, the church and cross form an ensemble of artistic and historical value. Two periods are represented here: a medieval Gothic building core and a work from the 18th century.

Two protected statues of saints can be distinguished by their dates and locations. The stone sculpture of Saint John of Nepomuk dates from 1737 and stands on the road toward Kupařovice. The statue of Saint Florian is a prominent protected sculpture from the late 18th century, located in the central park. Their dates can be compared: 1737 for Saint John of Nepomuk and the late 18th century for Saint Florian.

Two other stone monuments also have different locations. The Zděná boží muka is a protected monument on the road to a former mill. The Holy Cross, by contrast, is a sandstone monument from the 19th century, located in a park at a crossroads. Its location, material and date all help distinguish it.

The Jihlava landscape and nature

The European Natura 2000 site Meandry Jihlavy lies within the territory of Malešovice. It includes one of the last naturally preserved sections of the lower Jihlava, which has remained free of major technical alterations and interventions. This nature feature centers on a river section with a largely natural character. The territory of Malešovice is also a habitat for the specially protected fish species sekavčík horský. The river landscape and the protection of a specifically named animal species are two distinct nature-related themes.
