Nemotice brings together several themes to consider when planning a trip: St. Wenceslas Church, the former fortress, a marked hiking trail, a cycle route and the municipality’s geographical setting. St. Wenceslas represents Baroque architecture, while the fortress reflects the town’s earlier history; the two routes cater to different kinds of trip planning. The landscape and rail network provide further geographical context.

St. Wenceslas Church and its construction history

St. Wenceslas Church is a cultural monument in Nemotice and a single-nave Baroque building. Its prism-shaped tower dates from 1793; the church was consecrated on the first Sunday of Advent in 1794. The two years refer to different milestones: 1793 to the tower, and 1794 to the consecration. The construction history therefore cannot be reduced to a single date. Services are held regularly on Sundays at 11 a.m. If you would like to plan your visit around a service, check the parish’s current schedule.

The former fortress

The former fortress stood on a hill west of the town centre, around which the Kyjovka flowed. It was first mentioned in 1371 and fell into ruin sometime after 1531. Its history adds a different perspective to that of the church: here, the focus is on the former site and the fortress’s development over time. The town’s history thus encompasses two distinct themes—the architecture and consecration of St. Wenceslas, and the location and history of the former fortification.

Hiking and cycling

The marked red Brankovice–Nemotice–Švábenice hiking trail passes through the town. Cycle route No. 473, Otrokovice–Koryčany–Rajhradice, also runs through Nemotice. The routes can be distinguished by activity and signage: the hiking trail is identified by its red markings and sequence of towns, while the cycle route is identified by its number, 473, and its endpoints. This gives you practical guidance if you would like to include a hike or bike ride in your travel plans. Check trail conditions locally; surface conditions on the cycle route may change.

Landscape and rail network

The municipality of Nemotice lies within Ždánický les Nature Park. Nemotice is also located on the border between the Bučovice Hills and Ždánický les. For geographical orientation, both the municipality’s inclusion in the nature park and its location on this border are relevant. In the rail network, the Nemotice–Koryčany line branches off the Brno–Trenčanská Teplá railway line at Nemotice. If your travel plans include a train journey, check the current timetable.

Considering Nemotice as a destination

If you are considering whether Nemotice is right for your stay, you can start by weighing up local history and route planning. The church and the former fortress offer different historical themes; the hiking trail and cycle route represent two different ways to plan an outing. The information about the landscape adds geographical context to this picture. This can help you tailor your hotel search to what matters most during your stay.
