Nevojice offers several clear reasons to visit: the predominantly broadleaf Ždánický les, with hiking and cycling trails; the Mokřad a vodní tůně Nevojice wetland; and living Easter traditions. The parish church is also part of the town’s cultural character. If you are looking for a hotel in Nevojice, you can first decide what you want your stay to focus on: time in the forest, a bike ride, the wetland, or local culture and traditions.

Trails in Ždánický les

Ždánický les is predominantly covered with broadleaf trees. From Nevojice, it takes about a twenty-minute moderate uphill walk to reach it. This approximate time refers to the route from the town to the forest. There you will find carefully marked hiking trails and a network of surfaced forest tracks suitable for cycling. For planning purposes, the distinction is useful: the climb describes access to the forest, while the trail markings and surfaced tracks describe the routes within it. If you plan to explore on foot, the marked hiking trails are a clear point of reference. For a bike ride, the surfaced network is a suitable basis for planning. Both activities take place in the same landscape: a forest predominantly covered with broadleaf trees.

Wetland and cycling infrastructure

The Mokřad a vodní tůně Nevojice project was implemented in 2024/2025, creating a new aquatic and wetland habitat for a wide variety of organisms. The wetland was adapted for occasional, small-scale recreation. A gravel-and-grass path reserved exclusively for pedestrians provides access to the recreation area and the boardwalk; steps lead from the path to an observation point. The path by the wetland is therefore intended for a different use than the surfaced forest tracks: it is reserved for pedestrians, while the network in Ždánický les serves cyclists. The project also includes new tourist infrastructure supporting cycling on the EuroVelo4 route towards Bučovice–Nevojice. The habitat, limited recreational use and cycling infrastructure thus provide different considerations when planning a stay.

Easter traditions and a cultural monument

The “Klepání” tradition remains alive in Nevojice during the week before Easter, and the “Mrskut” tradition continues on Easter Monday. The customs mark different points in the Easter calendar. If you are interested in local traditions, you can plan your travel dates around them. The parish church in Nevojice was declared a cultural monument on 12 November 1998. Its designation as a monument provides a historical point of interest alongside the customs rooted in the seasons.

Planning your stay

The wetland adds an explicitly small-scale recreational option to the choices available. First decide whether you want to plan your stay mainly around activities, the time of year, or cultural interests.
