When planning a trip to Telnice, you can focus on several different themes: winter sports, scenery and trails, or history. The Zadní Telnice Ski Centre, the “Okolí Telnice” trail and historical landmarks offer different perspectives. You can start by deciding which themes are most important for your stay.

Winter Sports at the Ski Centre

The Zadní Telnice Ski Centre has nine downhill runs with a combined length of 5,060 m, a two-seat chairlift and six drag lifts. The number of runs and their combined length describe different aspects of what is on offer: the first figure refers to the individual runs, while the second gives their total length. Together with the types of lifts, these figures provide a clear overview for planning winter sports activities. The configuration may change, so check the information again shortly before your trip.

Trail, Forest and Scenery

The “Okolí Telnice” trail climbs steeply and offers impressive views. Along the route, coniferous and deciduous forests alternate with overgrown sunny meadows and shady streams lined with ferns. Forests, open meadows and streams give different sections of the trail their character. Take the steep climbs into account when choosing your route.

The Telnické mountain bike trails cross the “Okolí Telnice” trail and lead to a pond. Trail maintenance and routing may change, so check the latest information about the route before setting out. Protected natural areas with rare plant species are also found in the area around Telnice.

Oprám Pond and the History of Mining

Oprám Pond was formed from the former Gustav mine. Its origins connect this present-day landscape feature with the mine’s former use. The “Ninja Factor” obstacle course crosses the pond’s surface. As recreational facilities can change, check the course’s current status before visiting.

Architectural History and Monuments

St. Joseph’s Church in Telnice was designed in the Neo-Gothic style. It is 15 m long and 9 m wide. The church was completed in the autumn of 1910; on 23 October 1910, it was consecrated by the Bishop of Litoměřice, Dr. Josef Groß. Its architectural style, dimensions and the two historical details can therefore be considered together.

The Varvažovský Cross is considered the oldest monument commemorating the 1813 battles near Chlumec, Přestanov and Varvažov. The Varvažovský rozcestník, also called Pyrám, is a small but significant monument to the history of road signage in the region. Another historical trace is the route leading to the “Monument in the Wide Forest,” which was renamed “Leonhard's.”

Plan Your Journey and Search for Accommodation

The single-track regional Kozí dráha railway currently terminates in Telnice. Rail services and seasonal operations may change; if you are considering taking the train as part of your trip, check the timetable for your travel date.

When searching for a hotel in Telnice, you can first decide what you want to focus on during your stay. For winter sports, information about the runs and lifts offers a practical point of reference; scenery and history provide other ways to shape your trip. Tailor your search to the themes that interest you.
