When planning a trip to Trmice, you can choose from several different points of interest: the castle with its English park, a model railway museum, two churches and the Přemyslovské Stadice walking trip. You can plan your stay according to whether you are more interested in architectural history, model railways or a walking route. The features of each destination help you distinguish between these themes and plan accordingly.

Trmice Castle: Architecture and Cultural Centre

Trmice Castle is a one- to two-storey building with a crenellated tower, a balcony and an external staircase. Together, these architectural features give the building a clearly articulated form. It is set in a spacious English park and serves as a public cultural centre for events. The castle’s architecture and its cultural function are therefore two distinct aspects. If you are interested in a specific programme, check the date in advance: individual programmes may change.

Model railway in the castle

The castle houses a model railway museum with a permanent exhibition on the history and present day of model railways. The museum includes working model railway layouts in N, TT and H0 gauges. This gives you two different ways to explore the subject: the exhibition’s historical perspective and the working layouts in three gauges. If you are especially interested in model railways, you can treat this as a separate focus from exploring the castle building.

Two churches, different points of interest

The Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is one of the most important religious monuments in Trmice. It acquired its present appearance through a renovation in 1898/1899; the church grounds include statues of Saint John of Nepomuk and Saint Joseph. The building’s history and its statues offer different points of interest. The Evangelical Church of the Lord Jesus in Trmice has a different architectural form: it is a two-storey, plastered masonry building with an octagonal roof turret. By comparison, the renovation period and church grounds draw attention to the history and furnishings of the first church, while the form of the building and its roof turret stand out at the Evangelical church.

Přemyslovské Stadice walking trip

The Přemyslovské Stadice walking trip begins at Václavské náměstí in Trmice, by the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. From there, the red-marked hiking route runs through the Bílina valley via Koštov to Stadice. The starting point at Václavské náměstí can be reached by MHD trolleybus 73 from the Divadlo stop. Check the timetable for the day of your visit if you plan to use this connection. The places mentioned make the sequence of the trip clear: start in Trmice, continue via Koštov and finish in Stadice.

The distinction is useful when choosing your focus: the castle and museum bring together architecture, a cultural function and model railways, while the route follows a separate path from Trmice via Koštov to Stadice. The churches offer two specific points of interest in religious architecture: the renovation of the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary and the described architectural form of the Evangelical Church. If you are looking for a hotel in Trmice, you can first decide whether your trip will focus more on culture or on the walking trip.
