Březské lies in the foothills of the Vysočina region, at an elevation of about 468 to 483 metres above sea level. The surrounding area is shaped by gently rolling hills, with the nearby hills reaching about 500 metres. The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands in the centre of the village square and is a distinctive landmark of the municipality. If you are considering Březské as a destination, you will find a clearly defined cultural centre here alongside a landscape shaped by elevations and bodies of water.

Chapel and Regional Culture

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is the focal point of the village square. Two distinct cultural events are associated with it: the pilgrimage and the Obchůzka královniček procession. An ethnographic study from 2022 describes the pilgrimage as taking place from Friday to Sunday in mid-August. If you would like to plan your trip around this event, check the current programme in advance.

The Obchůzka královniček procession in the Velkobítešsko area was added to the List of Intangible Assets of Traditional Folk Culture of the Vysočina Region at the end of 2015, under number 4/2015. A report from 2015 describes the procession as a tradition held in Březské since 2011 and confirms that it continued in 2015. A 2021 cultural publication records a scene in front of the chapel: during the Obchůzka, girls step aside and sing the song “Král zlámal nohu”. These details, placed in their historical context, convey both the regional setting of the tradition and a specific detail of how it is presented in Březské.

Hilly Landscape and Bodies of Water

Named landscape features also provide orientation beyond the village square. The Březinka watercourse runs along the edge of Březské’s built-up area and rises in the neighbouring municipality of Březí. The Skříňka pond is one of the most significant bodies of water in Březské for ecological stability and improving water retention in the landscape. Watercourses and wet meadows have the highest ecological stability in the area. Thus, in addition to its gently rolling surroundings, the place is also defined by its bodies of water and wetland areas.

Hiking and Cycling Routes

A marked green hiking trail runs from the north through the built-up area of Březské towards the southeast. This describes a route through the village for a hike; check the trail markings locally before setting out.

Cycle route 5241 runs from Čikov via Jáchymov, Osová Bítýška, Níhov and Žďarec to Krčma. It runs from north to south through the administrative area of Březské. Cycle route 5235 runs from Velká Bíteš via Vlkov, Osová, Heřmanov, Dolní Libochová and Strážek to Zvole; its route passes through the southern part of Březské’s cadastral area. When finding your way, it is helpful to note the different descriptions of their locations: the green hiking trail is specifically described as running through the built-up area, while the two cycle routes are described in relation to the administrative area and the southern cadastral area, respectively. Check the current signage locally.

Bus Stop and Arrival Planning

A bus stop with a shelter is located on the edge of Březské, on road III/3793 near the fire station. Check the current timetable and the situation at the stop before travelling. This will help you plan your journey around the stop’s location.
