If you’re looking for a hotel for Horní Radslavice, the landscape, hiking and local history can offer different points of focus when choosing your destination. The village lies on road II/349 between Bochovice and Pohořílky, a district of Otín. This location places Horní Radslavice geographically; the valley, mountain, hiking trail and historical events offer different points of reference for your decision.

Landscape between stream and mountain

The landscape in the southern and eastern parts of the area is shaped primarily by the valley of the Svatoslavský potok. It includes floodplains and steep, mostly wooded slopes. The Svatoslavský potok separates Horní Radslavice from Mount Strážnice to the east. The mountain reaches an elevation of 564 metres and offers views of the surrounding landscape. To the south, the area borders the Přírodní park Třebíčsko nature park; the stream forms the boundary there. The Svatoslavský potok is therefore both part of the valley landscape and a geographical point of reference between the village and the nature park.

A tributary is located in a different part of the area: it rises in a wooded area west of Horní Radslavice, below Mount Posekaný. The eastern high point, the valley and a western watercourse thus come together as distinct landscape features.

Hiking and water

A blue-marked hiking trail passes through the cadastral area of Horní Radslavice. It is a specific point of reference for hiking enthusiasts; Strážnice adds to the landscape appeal with its views. The Luční pond lies west of the village and offers opportunities for swimming and fishing. If you plan to take part in either activity, check the current local conditions in advance. These points of reference are in different locations: the marked trail runs through the cadastral area, while the pond lies west of the village. Hiking and the opportunities at Luční can therefore be considered as separate focal points.

Village square and local history

A bell tower stands in the village square. Several historic crosses are located in Horní Radslavice and its surroundings. The bell tower is situated in a specific place, while the crosses extend the connection with the village into the surrounding area. The first written record of the village dates from 1377. In 1409, Ladislav z Kravař na Meziříčí sold Horní Radslavice to Janko, Štědroň and Mikuláš from Bochovice, with the consent of Anežka, daughter of the late Jan of Meziříčí. The sale was made with the consent of Anežka, daughter of the late Jan of Meziříčí. In 1436, a dispute over the inheritance of Bochovice arose concerning Raclavice, the historical name of Horní Radslavice. An agreement was reached between the parties the following year. The dates mark different stages: the first written record in 1377 was followed by the sale in 1409 and the dispute in 1436, with an agreement the following year. The local landmarks in the village square and the dated events thus offer different ways of exploring the village’s history.
