Nový Telečkov lies in the eastern part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. For choosing a travel destination, the village has a clearly identifiable feature: its circular layout, which is rare in the Czech Republic. If you are looking for a hotel for a trip to Nový Telečkov, the village square, chapel and hiking trails offer concrete points of reference to help you decide whether the local attractions suit your plans.

Circular Village Layout and Historic Buildings

In a circular village, the houses are arranged around the central village square; this is precisely the layout that characterizes Nový Telečkov. Its distinctive spatial feature lies not in a single house, but in the relationship between the square and the houses. If you are interested in settlement patterns, you can understand the village through this layout: the central square forms the focal point, with the houses grouped around it. The fact that this layout is rare in the Czech Republic makes it a distinctive feature of the village.

At the center stands the Chapel of the Virgin Mary. It dates from 1832 and was consecrated on October 28 of that year. Above the village is a granite monument bearing a family coat of arms, the Moravian coat of arms, several inscriptions and the motto “V rodu je síla” (meaning roughly “Strength lies in family”). The chapel and monument offer different points of historical interest: a precisely dated building in the village center, and a monument whose coats of arms and inscriptions draw attention to its design.

The nearby former castle site of Hradisko is thought to have served as a watch post. In times of danger, a warning fire was lit there, visible from other castles. Double ramparts remain visibly preserved in the nearby Hradisko area. Here, a historical interpretation of the site meets a visible feature in the landscape.

Hiking, Mushroom Picking and Swimming

You can go hiking in the surrounding area and pick mushrooms in season. A yellow hiking trail leads from Trnava–Kobylince via Přeckov and Hroznatín to Nový Telečkov. The named intermediate villages give you a clear idea of the route; check the trail markers before setting out. This helps distinguish the specific route from the general opportunity to hike in the surrounding area.

Swimming is possible at a nearby recently renovated pond. Check access and swimming conditions locally before planning your visit. Hiking, mushroom picking and swimming are different ways to experience the area; when planning your day, you can choose the activity that interests you most.

Getting to Nový Telečkov

From Oslavička railway stop, you can reach Nový Telečkov by walking about three kilometers west along the road. Factor this walk into your journey as a separate leg. The village can also be reached directly by bus, but only on weekdays. Check the current timetable and connections before you travel. This gives you two different options for getting your bearings: a walk from the railway stop and a direct bus connection with weekday-only service.

Rubačka Lookout Tower

Rubačka Lookout Tower is free to enter and open year-round. Forty-two steps lead to the viewing platform, which is seven meters high. From there, the view faces northeast toward Velké Meziříčí and the surrounding landscape. The number of steps and platform height provide specific measurements for the viewpoint; the direction of the view also identifies a destination and the part of the landscape it overlooks.
