For a trip to Přešovice, you can choose between different focuses: the landscape, the cycling route and local history. Rokytná Nature Park highlights the area’s natural character, the Mlynářská Trail brings specific local and road routes into focus, and the church and memorial point to the history of the town.

Landscape and protected areas along the Rokytná

Rokytná Nature Park also extends across the cadastral area of Přešovice and covers an area of 2,870 hectares. It protects the landscape character of the local, hilly uplands, with the distinctive Rokytná valley and its many deeply incised meanders. This area figure refers to the nature park, not the size of the built-up area. The nature park contains several Sites of Community Importance (EVL) and a nature reserve. The European protected area Řeka Rokytná covers 123.678 hectares; its boundaries may be adjusted through legal updates.

The landscape features and protection designations offer two perspectives on the natural environment: hills, the valley and meanders describe its form; EVL sites and the nature reserve identify protected areas. In the vicinity of Přešovice, the meandering Rokytná River retains its natural landscape character, with old riverside trees and numerous rock formations. South of the built-up part of the town, the Rokytná forms the boundary between the Vysočina Region and the South Moravian Region. The river therefore represents both a natural landscape and a regional boundary.

The Mlynářská Trail and its route

A route description from 2023–2024 lists Rouchovany, Přešovice, Litovany and Biskupice-Pulkov along the Mlynářská Trail. The route follows a farm track to Přešovice, crosses road III/4006 there, then continues along road III/4007 to Litovany and onward towards Radkovice. Check the signs and route before setting out. The sequence of towns shows the route in its broader context; the road details specify the section near Přešovice. Note the distinction: the route crosses III/4006 and continues along III/4007.

Church and memorial in Přešovice

The Church of St Peter and Paul in Přešovice was built in 1908 in the Neo-Romanesque style. A memorial to the victims of the world wars is another historical point of interest in the town. The church can be placed in context by its construction date and style, while the memorial is defined by its commemoration of the war victims. Together, they represent a building with a specific date and style and a place of remembrance.

For planning your trip, it is useful to distinguish between a specific route and a broader natural environment: the Mlynářská Trail can be identified by its named roads and towns, while the nature park and river describe the landscape and its protected status.
