Příštpo: Rokytná Nature Park and Routes
Accommodation in Příštpo
When looking for a hotel in Příštpo, the Rokytná landscape is a distinctive point of reference: the nature park begins in the village, and a designated route through the park also passes through Příštpo. Riverside nature, a hiking trail, cycling routes, and historical points of interest give your trip a range of possible themes. Depending on your interests, you can take nature watching, exercise on named routes, or local history into account when making your choice.
Nature Park and River Landscape
Rokytná Nature Park is a 27 km² wooded protected valley along the Rokytná, with rocks and floodplain meadows. A designated route through the park passes through Příštpo.
The yellow water-lily occurs in a meander of the Rokytná upstream of Příštpo. Numerous endangered plant and animal species occur along the river near Příštpo; with a little luck, you may also spot the noble crayfish and kingfisher in the river area. The endangered snowdrop Galanthus nivalis also occurs in the Jedlový les a údolí Rokytné area.
Hiking and Cycling Routes
A yellow-marked hiking trail runs through Rokytná Nature Park and can also be ridden by mountain bike; the described route passes through Příštpo. Another route through the nature park is 15.5 km long: it runs from Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou via Královec, Příštpo, and Pulkovský Mlýn to Biskupice. Příštpo is shown at kilometer 5 on this route.
The 32 km cycling loop “From Jaroměřice to the Rokytná Valley” runs via Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou, Příštpo, Rozkoš, Biskupice-Pulkov, Radkovice, and Myslibořice, then returns to Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou. This makes it possible to compare two different routes: the 15.5 km route goes as far as Biskupice, while the cycling loop returns to Jaroměřice.
Cycle Route 5263 runs through the built-up area of Příštpo. The 10 km Cycle Route 5263 runs from Jevišovice via Bukovina and Kyničky through heavily wooded areas to the Rokytná Valley; Příštpo is listed as an alternative. Check local route conditions before setting out.
Local History and Named Places
Příštpo’s sights include a chapel; the village also has a monument to those who fell in 1945. South of the built-up area is the approximately 10 m-high rock called Justýnka, which is associated with a legend from the time of the Thirty Years’ War. Bednářův mlýn is also located south of the built-up area.
One historical reference is the name form Preschep, recorded for Příštpo in 1190. In 1821, the estate in Příštpo was described as the seat of the instigators of an uprising against robot labor in part of the Znojmo estate.
