Křídlo Castle and Panský Mill

The ruins of Křídlo Castle lie within the cadastral area of Brusné. The castle was founded in the mid-14th century. The Křídlo site in Brusné is classified as an important archaeological site. The founding date places the castle in its historical context; the classification identifies the site as archaeologically significant.

To reach the meeting point for a guided tour of the ruins, a 2019 set of directions first describes a yellow-marked hiking trail, followed by a blue-marked one. Check the markings on site.

The earliest references to Panský Mill date from the second half of the 14th century. In a sale at that time, the mill was mentioned as part of the Křídlo Castle manorial estate. Panský Mill is considered one of the oldest mills in the region to have been purchased out of serfdom. A working replica of the original waterwheel can be seen at Panský Mill; it is supplied with water from the Rusava via a canal and aqueduct. Check current access arrangements before your visit.

Chapel and bell tower

A chapel with a bell tower was built in Brusné in 1840. At the Zvonička v Brusném, the ground floor can be viewed as a chapel through a glass pane; there are two benches in front of the entrance. The construction year provides a historical reference point, while the glass pane and benches describe the specific appearance of the Zvonička.

Waterways, the Hostýnské vrchy hills and Háj

Brusné lies at the confluence of the Brusenka stream and the Rusava River. The Brusenka is a right-bank tributary of the Rusava, which is located in the southwestern part of Brusné. Brusné is also considered one of the gateways to the Hostýnské vrchy hills. The village can therefore be understood both through its two waterways and its regional connection to this mountain range.

At the western edge of Brusné lies the Háj recreation area, with two ponds and a restaurant. The area also includes a covered stage for various events and a children’s playground. Check the current status of these facilities before your trip. The municipal Háj u Rybníčků restaurant reopened in March 2026; confirm that it is currently operating before you visit. Separately, a workout and parkour playground was built in Brusné in 2019.
