Elnesvågen: Harbor, coastal path, and nearby hiking destinations
Accommodation in Elnesvågen
When planning your time in Elnesvågen, you can distinguish between the harbor area, the Elnestangen coastal path near the center, and hiking destinations in the surrounding area. The Elnesvågen activity park and bathing spot is by the harbor; at the coastal path’s rest area, you are right by the water and can look out over the Frænafjord. Klempertåsen and Elvedliten offer different hiking profiles to round out your orientation in the area. This makes it easy to decide early on whether you are more interested in the harbor, views of the fjord, a short loop, or a trail to a small summit.
Harbor and coastal path in Elnesvågen
The Elnesvågen activity park and bathing spot is by the harbor. There is good parking nearby; parking arrangements may change due to local regulations. The Elnestangen coastal path is near the center. Its rest area offers a different point of reference from the harbor: here, you are right by the water and can look out over the Frænafjord. When planning your stay, you can keep these two details separate—the harbor is home to the activity park and bathing spot, while the fjord view is from the rest area on the coastal path.
Klempertåsen: hike to a small summit
Klempertåsen lies west of Elnesvågen. It is a family hike over easy terrain that leads to a small summit. From there, you can quickly enjoy views of the fjord and mountains. Klempertåsen is accessible by bus from Molde to Eidem vest or Elnesvågen. You can park for the trail at Helsehuset in Eidem vest, the former Istad Kraft building in Elnesvågen. The bus information and parking location provide two specific reference points for getting there. If you plan to take the bus, check the timetable before setting out.
Elvedliten: short loop and riverbank
Elvedliten is a short circular hike near Haukåssetra. The parking area is at the top of Hauglia, with signs from the main road by Rema 100 in Elnesvågen. The trail itself is not signposted or marked. This distinction is important for finding your way: the route to the parking area is signposted, but the hike is not. Elvedliten follows the left riverbank and returns to the lit path. After heavy rainfall, some sections of the trail may be wet; suitable footwear is recommended. The note about wet conditions is especially relevant if there has been heavy rain beforehand.
Konglebu and the trail options
The Konglebu shelter has games, a hiking logbook, and play opportunities for children. From there, hikers can either descend to Håset or continue on to Løset. This describes both features of the shelter and two specific trail options. To orient yourself in the area around the Klempertåsen route, it is helpful to distinguish between these two directions: Håset is on the described downhill branch, while the alternative trail continues to Løset.
Choose hikes by their features
Klempertåsen and Elvedliten differ in the trail profiles described. Klempertåsen is a family hike over easy terrain to a small summit, with views of the fjord and mountains. Elvedliten is the short circular hike; the trail there is unmarked and may be wet in places after heavy rainfall. If you are choosing between the two destinations, the summit and easy terrain on the one hand, and the short loop and note about wet conditions on the other, offer specific points of comparison. For a stay in Elnesvågen, the harbor, coastal path, and nearby hiking destinations offer a range of different options that you can choose from based on your interests.
