River Scenery and Hiking Trails
Dagsturhytta Otta offers views of Rondane, the valley and the center of Otta. Visitors can take shelter there, pause for a break, eat food they have brought with them and warm up. Overnight stays are not permitted in the hut. Several other hiking options start from the hut; hikes to Pillarguritoppen and Thokampen start in Otta.
The main route to Dagsturhytta leads from the center of Otta along Liaveien, then follows a marked, steep path to the hut. In spring and early summer, the path is often wet. Take this seasonal wetness into account when planning your hike.
The fourth stage of the Ringebu–Otta route runs from Sjoa to Otta and is 9 km long. The route first follows an old summer grazing path, then goes via Solheim to Otta.
