Song, school and the history of trade
Arne Johansen from Stjørna wrote the song “Minner fra Knarrlagsund” during the 1955–56 school year. It later came to be known and sung as “Knarrlagsundsangen”. Two different dates are part of the local school’s history: a new school began operating in 1951, but was not inaugurated until 1956.
The history of the Trollheimen Handel shop in Trolla is also connected to Knarrlagsund. Anna Marie Sandvik (1919–2007) founded the business; it operated for three decades and closed in 2002. Along with the song and the school’s history, these stories offer insight into different periods of local history.
