Horné Pršany offers visitors several different themes: the rock landscape of Kremenia, educational trails with various destinations, and local history. Those who want to include nature and culture in their travel plans will find points of interest in the terrain, at the trail stops, and in historical records. In winter, prepared cross-country ski trails are added to the marked routes.

Kremenia: Rock Formations and Geology

Kremenia is a protected natural monument of geological and geomorphological value. Its varied surface features and outcrops reveal the processes of silicification. The area has prominent rock ridges; cliffs often form along their edges, with smaller rock towers appearing occasionally. The distinctive landforms are connected to the transformation of the original limestone and dolomite rocks into siliceous rock. Here, the visible shape of the terrain meets its geological origins.

Educational Trails with Different Destinations

The “Horné Pršany – Rozhľadňa” educational trail ends below the summit of Lažtek Hill, in the Kopanice locality. An observation tower there offers views of the surrounding area. Four stops provide information about historical and natural features of the municipality and its surroundings, as well as tourism opportunities in this part of the Kremnica Mountains.

The “Horné Pršany – Kremenia” educational trail ends at the Kremenia Natural Monument, which contains interesting caves. Its four stops cover the history of Horné Pršany and its sights. The two trails therefore have clearly different destinations: one leads to the observation tower in Kopanice, the other to the natural monument and its caves.
