The tetradymite deposit near Župkov is located in a small, now-backfilled adit near Kopanica Pod Angletovcami. It is one of only three known occurrences of this rare mineral worldwide. Andrej Kmeť and František Kabin gave the mineral the name Župkovit. The geological story thus brings together a specific discovery site and a traditional mineralogical naming.

Riečky is a year-round sports and leisure facility in Kľakovská dolina, on the northern edge of the municipality of Župkov.
