Jaslovské Bohunice: Church, Manor House and Park
Accommodation in Jaslovské Bohunice
Jaslovské Bohunice brings together Neoclassical religious architecture, a historic manor house with an English park, and a range of leisure activities. This gives you several specific themes to consider when planning your trip: architectural history, park design, cycling, nature and sport. You can decide which of these matter most to you by looking at the town’s individual features.
Church and Manor House: Different Building Periods
The Roman Catholic Church of St Michael the Archangel was built between 1832 and 1836 in the Neoclassical style. Its furnishings include a wooden organ dating from 1841, also designed in the Neoclassical style and with a Mozart-type keyboard. The church therefore brings together two closely related historical details: its 19th-century architectural style and an instrument with a specifically named keyboard type.
The manor house makes a different architectural statement. Originally, it was a late Baroque building from the end of the 18th century. At the end of the 19th century, it was extended and redesigned in the style of Romantic Neo-Romanesque Historicism. This chronology clearly distinguishes the manor house from the Neoclassical church: the manor house’s architectural history includes both its late Baroque origins and its later historicist redesign.
English Park and Disc Golf
The English park by the manor house has paths leading to ponds, fountains and sculptures. Rare woody plants, old trees and flower beds are also part of its design. Water, sculptures and plants each give the park a distinctive character, adding landscaped outdoor spaces to the manor house’s architectural theme.
The disc golf course is also located in the park by the manor house. It is free and open to the general public, with nine holes and a total length of 620 metres. This provides a specific leisure activity alongside the park’s other features: you can assess the course by its number of holes and total length, while the ponds, fountains and sculptures offer a different dimension to a visit to the park.
Cycling, a Nature Trail and Bird Conservation
Jaslovské Bohunice has three sections of cycle paths with a total length of 1.5 kilometres. The municipality also offers tips for cycling trips away from busy roads. These include field tracks with gravel and dirt surfaces, as well as quiet paved roads within the municipalities. The three cycle-path sections and the trip suggestions offer different kinds of guidance: one gives a combined total length, while the other describes the surfaces and traffic on potential cycling routes.
A nature trail in Jaslovské Bohunice has five information boards. The protected bird conservation area, which includes the cadastral territories of Bohunice, Jaslovce and Paderovce, provides a distinct connection to nature. It was established to preserve the saker falcon’s habitats and safeguard the conditions it needs to survive and reproduce. The conservation effort is therefore specifically focused on the saker falcon and its habitats.
Play and Sports Facilities
The fenced Lienka playground in Jaslovské Bohunice is intended for young children. It has modern play equipment and climbing structures; the playground also features wooden figures of the fairy-tale characters Dlhý, Široký and Bystrozraký. These details give the playground its own theme in addition to its facilities.
The ŠK Blava sports complex includes a floodlit artificial turf pitch, as well as a tennis hall and a badminton hall. Its facilities therefore include both an outdoor pitch and two indoor halls for different sports.
The Mlyn shooting range in Bohunice has ranges for skeet, trap, automatic trap and universal trap. Visitors can shoot there under the supervision of an experienced instructor, provided they contact the manager in advance. Use this contact to confirm the current operating conditions as well.
