Slovenia is small country known in Europe as a popular region for health and family tourism. Hotels in Slovenia, which offer their services from Ljubljana to Kranjska Gora, are distinguished by Western European quality. Quality of hotels in Slovenia can be compared with hotels in Italy and even Austria.
The quality is backed by the price. Hotels in Slovenia by the prices do not yield Italy or Germany. In Slovenia there are also many hotels located in historical buildings of the early 20th century, castles, mansions and villas. Ljubljana, Lake Bled, Bohinj, Kranjska Gora, Piran - these are the main tourist resorts of Slovenia, where are located the most expensive, but also the most-equipped hotels.
Despite the tiny size, Slovenia, however, is notable for its unique climatic conditions. In Slovenia there is still a mass of hotels, which were inherited by the country from the communist regime. Moreover, despite its appearance, the former Soviet hotels are today thoroughly modernized. Nevertheless, the former soviet hotels in Slovenia are not higher than "3 stars".
Sobe is the abbreviation common for private hotels of all former Yugoslavia countries. In Slovenia, as well as in Croatia or Montenegro, sobe means private residence. In general the level of the Slovene tourist apartments will not disappoint tourists.
Season in Slovenia is divided into summer and winter. The highest room rates in summer are in hotels at the resorts near Lake Bled, in the Triglav reserve and the resort of Piran and Bohinj. Winter holidays in Slovenia are available at the ski resort of Kranjska Gora, where starting from December prices are by 20-30% higher than on average during the year. Room rates in Slovene hotels may also depend on the term of staying. When booking accommodation for more than three days, many hotels provide for staggered discounts. Also, most hotels in Slovenia include breakfast in the room price, and some small guest houses and mini-hotels also include dinner.
