Discover Lido Di Classe: Beach, Nature and Events
Accommodation in Lido Di Classe
The beach area of Lido Di Classe stretches between the Pineta di Classe pine forest and the mouth of the River Savio. Lido Di Classe is one of Ravenna’s nine beaches. When planning your trip, the coast and nature offer different options, complemented by sports activities and seasonal cultural events.
Beach, Pets and Sports
If you’re travelling with pets, there is a dedicated section of the free beach. Most beach clubs have courts for beach tennis, beach volleyball, basketball and beach soccer; facilities may vary by venue. Beach clubs also organise tournaments at different levels, although the sports programme may vary by season. If a particular court or tournament is important to your stay, check what the beach club offers and confirm the dates in advance.
Pineta and Foce del Bevano
The Pineta di Classe is designated under Natura 2000 both as a Site of Community Importance and as a Special Protection Area. It has rest areas and observation points for wetlands and local birdlife. Hiking, cycling and horse-riding trails in the pine forest can be reached from Lido Di Classe; the pine forest itself is also accessible on foot or by bicycle.
Nearby, Foce del Bevano is suitable for birdwatching and general nature observation; it can be reached on foot or by mountain bike. Access restrictions vary by season. During sensitive periods, access to the river mouth may be restricted or completely closed. Check the access conditions before setting out, especially if this trip is a fixed part of your plans.
If you’re choosing between the natural areas, the options also differ: from Lido Di Classe, hiking, cycling and horse-riding trails are accessible in the pine forest; Foce del Bevano can be reached on foot or by mountain bike. Foce del Bevano is also subject to seasonal access restrictions.
Summer Events and Practical Information
In summer, the Naturae Festival in Lido Di Classe hosts nature and culture events for all ages; individual events may vary from season to season. Open-air screenings at the Arena del Sole returned for their 47th season in 2026 and were organised by the Associazione Solaris. Screenings are seasonal, so check the dates for your travel period.
The summer programme also includes the market in Piazza Ricci, with stalls selling fruit, vegetables, clothing and food.
The certified ultralight aircraft flight school of Club Ultraleggeri Ali di Classe is located at Viale dei Lombardi 56/a. Course offerings may vary; if you’re considering a course, check availability with the club in advance.
If you’re travelling by train, the station’s location is also relevant: Lido di Classe / Lido di Savio station is about five kilometres from the beaches. Plan your onward journey to the beaches and check transport options before your trip.
