When planning a trip to Cepletischis, specific trail and nature destinations take center stage: two CAI trails, a mountain bike variant of the SI-C A11-A, and the Rieca Gorge with a restored mill in the area. If you are looking for a hotel in Cepletischis, these attractions can help you decide what to focus on during your stay—hiking, mountain biking, or exploring the gorge and mill.

On foot: two distinct CAI trails

CAI Trail 736 runs through dense forest and crosses the Rio Rug mocila. On the slopes of Monte Cau, it reaches Cepletischis via a forest track. CAI Trail 745, by contrast, starts at the church in Cepletischis and follows a paved road to Polava. It crosses the Rieca stream on a footbridge, then continues uphill along the wooded slopes of Monte Scarie.

These routes offer different ways to choose a trail based on its character: Trail 736 is defined by forest and a forest track, while Trail 745 features a start at the church, a paved section and the climb that follows. Both trails cross a stream, but different ones: Trail 736 crosses the Rio Rug mocila, while Trail 745 crosses the Rieca.

Mountain bike stage to Livek

The mountain bike variant of stage SI-C A11-A passes through Cepletischis and continues across the Polava border crossing to Livek in Slovenia. The stage is listed as 54.6 kilometers long, with 1,050 meters of elevation gain and 1,900 meters of descent; its difficulty rating is MC/BC. These figures apply to the stage, not just the section through Cepletischis. When planning, consider the total distance and the listed elevation figures as well as the MC/BC classification.

The Rieca Gorge and viewpoint

The Rieca Gorge lies downstream from Cepletischis. Over many millennia, the Rieca stream carved a gorge in carbonate rock. A bridge on the road from Cepletischis to Grimacco serves as a viewpoint overlooking the gorge. Here, it is only a few meters wide and about 12 meters deep. A path near the bridge leads down to the Rieca stream. The viewpoint and the path to the stream offer two different ways to experience the gorge as part of your trip.

The mill and seasonal forest bathing

There were several former mills in the area of the Rieca Gorge near Cepletischis. One has been restored and is open to visitors. This adds a cultural destination in the same area to the gorge’s geological features.

Forest bathing was also a time-limited offering: the summer 2026 program listed the forest of Cepletischis in Savogna as a possible venue. The experience described combined multisensory nature and well-being activities on easy-to-walk paths and was intended for people aged 16 and over. The program ran from June 21 to September 22, 2026. For later travel dates, check whether more sessions are offered.
