Klobenstein combines walking paths, views of the earth pyramids and a local sports and events venue. When planning your stay, you can distinguish between paths by starting point, route length and landscape destination. Sports facilities and a market selling products directly from farms round out the options in the area. This makes it easy to organise your plans around specific questions: Where does a path begin, how long is it, or what is its main destination? Sports and the market offer different focal points from the walking paths.

Railway and starting points

The Ritten narrow-gauge railway operates year-round. For the day of your visit, it is advisable to check the current timetable, as schedules may change. Klobenstein station is the starting point for the walk along the Von Eyrl Promenade and for Route 24. This gives you a shared reference point for two different walks, whose respective durations and destinations you can consider separately.

Walking paths and earth pyramids

The Von Eyrl Promenade is 740 m long and runs between Lengmoos and Klobenstein. There are several viewing platforms along the route. Route 24 leads to the earth pyramids in Lengmoos; the walk there from Klobenstein station takes about 30 minutes. For the promenade, the length is a useful planning figure; for Route 24, it is the approximate walking time. This lets you choose between a short walk with viewpoints and a walk to a named landscape destination.

The Fenn Promenade starts at a different point: the “Zentral” car park on the outskirts of Klobenstein, at an altitude of 1,150 m. The promenade offers views of the earth pyramids in the Finsterbachgraben. This distinguishes it from Route 24, whose destination is the earth pyramids in Lengmoos. Their starting points also differ: Route 24 starts at the station, while the Fenn Promenade starts at the car park on the outskirts. When natural destinations have similar names, these details help you identify the destination you want and the right starting point.

Sports and events

The Ritten Arena is located in Klobenstein on the sunny Ritten plateau and has modern sports facilities. It is a meeting place for athletes, locals and visitors, as well as a venue for events. It adds a sporting focus to the walking paths and landscape destinations. Accessible ice skating is possible with an ice glider for wheelchair users and their families and companions. If you plan to make use of this option, check the availability of the ice glider before travelling.

Products directly from the farm

The Small Farmers’ Market in Klobenstein adds a culinary dimension to the walking and sports options. It offers fresh and processed products directly from farms. If you would also like to include farm produce when planning your stay, the market is a distinct local destination. The offering combines two types of products—fresh and processed goods—with the same direct connection to the farm.
