Concei – Forest Trails and Rural Heritage
Accommodation in Concei
For a trip to Concei, nature and culture can be explored side by side. Val Concei is largely covered by coniferous and deciduous forests, but its trails also lead to other destinations. These include Faggio, the Rifugio Al Faggio, the valley floor’s three settlements, and pastures, huts and mountain farms. When planning an outing, it is therefore worth considering the route, destination and seasonal conditions of each tour, as well as its name.
Hiking trails in Val Concei
The Sentiero Naturalistico Val Concei leads from Lenzumo through the forest to Faggio and offers several variants. The Giro delle baite di Concei runs from the forests around the Rifugio Al Faggio to the pastures, huts and mountain farms of Concei. It is considered a route for discovering the rural economy of the Ledro Valley. To choose between the two, it helps to consider their route profiles: the Sentiero focuses on the connection between Lenzumo and Faggio and its variants, while the Giro is centred on pastures, huts and mountain farms. Access to the Giro in the mountains depends on seasonal conditions; check these before setting out.
Route and practical guidance
A nature trail across the valley floor of Val Concei passes through the valley’s three settlements and continues to the Rifugio al Faggio. If passing through the settlements is important to your choice of route, this trail offers a useful point of reference. Check trail conditions before setting out. For the Giro delle cime – half route, Lenzumo is the nearest bus stop; from there, the trailhead is 3 km away on foot. Allow time for this walk and check the timetable before departure. The planning advice differs: for the Giro delle baite, it concerns seasonal access to the mountains; for the Giro delle cime – half route, it concerns the walk from the bus stop to the trailhead.
Rural architecture
Traditional hay barns can be seen north of Lenzumo. They add a tangible form of rural architecture to the trail themes. If you are interested in rural architecture as well as nature trails, the hay barns offer a distinct point of interest.
Church and art in Enguiso
Another cultural landmark is in Enguiso: the Church of the Presentation of Mary was consecrated in 1867 and contains a Stations of the Cross by Fasal. The year of consecration gives the church a historical context, while the Stations of the Cross is a specific work located inside it. Those wishing to include Enguiso’s religious history alongside forest and mountain-pasture trails will find a distinct theme here.
A dated event listing
The Pro Loco di Concei announced the event described as the traditional Sagra dei Mozac for 21–23 August 2026 in Lenzumo. The programme included Caponec for sale. This makes the event a specific, dated festival and food-related feature in Lenzumo.
