If you’re looking for a hotel in Lenzi - Stefani, the area’s different cultural and visitor attractions can help you plan your stay. The village of Lenzi in Palù del Fersina lies at an altitude of 1,350 m; the municipal administration of Palù del Fersina is based in the Lenzi district. The topics covered range from Mòcheno history and language to mining and grain processing. Before booking, you can consider whether exhibitions, a mining history trail, or a glimpse inside a mill would be of particular interest to you.

Mòcheno history and language

The permanent exhibition of the Bersntoler Cultural Institute focuses on the area and the Mòcheno community. Its timeline spans the earliest traces of human presence, medieval colonization, farmsteads, and mining, through to traditions and language. In this way, early traces, forms of work and life, and cultural and linguistic heritage are presented side by side. Multimedia stations complement the topics with audio stories and documentaries. You can explore the content through the exhibition and also through audio and film.

The Mostra Klòffen exhibition spans the period from colonization to the present day and presents the history and traditions of the Mòcheno people through panels, objects, and documents. The exhibition includes the Stela, an object that was used in Palù del Fersina for a long time. While the Bersntoler Cultural Institute’s permanent exhibition begins with the earliest traces of human presence, Mostra Klòffen starts with colonization. This gives you different starting points from which to explore Mòcheno history.

Mining history on the Anello dei Minatori

The Anello dei Minatori is a circular trail through the mining history of the Valle dei Mòcheni. The trail covers old mines, museums, farmsteads, archaeological sites, and local cultural heritage. It follows a forest road along the left orographic side of the Fersina River to Maso Lenzi and the Erdemolo Mine. The return route passes through Fernù and Stelder, goes by the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena, and runs through the historic center of Stefani-Steffener. Along the trail, you’ll encounter historic and cultural sites as well as mining sites.

Minerals, mining, and milling

The S’Pèrgmandlhaus Mineral Museum was designed as a link to the Erdemolo Mine (Gruab va Hardimbl). Its two floors display minerals and tools used by miners. A video room explores the history of Palù del Fersina and how the valley’s inhabitants have lived alongside mining. The focus therefore ranges from minerals and tools to local history and life with mining.

During a visit to the Mulino Lenzi, you can learn how the millstones work and discover the individual stages of grain processing. You can also watch local flours being made there. This focus differs from the minerals and mining history of the S’Pèrgmandlhaus: here, the emphasis is on grain processing and local flours.
