Pochi offers several specific points of interest to help you plan your trip: hikes along the historic Dürer Trail, the sculpture garden and the parish church of St. Ursula. The vineyards on a natural terrace also shape the landscape. When choosing where to stay, consider whether you are most interested in paths through forests and cultural landscapes, outdoor art or insights into traditional crafts.

Hiking in Pochi

Pochi is part of the Monte Corno Nature Park and lies on a natural terrace covered with vineyards. The hiking trails pass through varied landscapes: descriptions include both the forests of the nature park and rural sections and paths through the village.

The Buchholz Loop leads from the village center to the sculpture garden, continues through the countryside to the Niedere-Höfe-Weg and then returns through the village to the starting point. It is the only explicitly described loop among the hikes mentioned here.

The varied hike from Pochi/Buchholz to Lago Santo follows the historic Dürer Trail through the forests of Monte Corno Nature Park. Another hike starts in Pochi and follows Trail No. 1 and the Dürer Trail to Passo Saùch. Both descriptions mention the Dürer Trail, but name different destinations: Lago Santo and Passo Saùch.

Another route starts at the Pochi parking lot by the church. At first, the trail follows the Dürer Trail through forests and rural landscapes in the direction of Rifugio Sauch. To plan your trip, you can distinguish between the trails by asking two specific questions: Would you like to follow a loop that returns to the starting point, or orient yourself toward a named destination or direction? The Buchholz Loop describes the return, while the other routes name Lago Santo, Passo Saùch or Rifugio Sauch.

Art, the Church and Crafts

The Pochi sculpture garden lies below St. Ursula Church. The exhibition is set amid nature and includes 560 works of art in bronze or marble. Pochi’s parish church is dedicated to Saint Ursula, also known as Sant'Orsola. Here, then, you will find two distinct cultural themes: the church’s dedication and an exhibition of works in two specified materials.

At the historic Fucina Isidor, you can learn about traditional crafts during a guided tour. Visits are guided; arrange your visit in advance. This adds a distinct focus on crafts to the art and sacred history as you plan your trip.

Birdwatching and History

Roccolo del Sauch is an old bird-trapping site. Today, migratory birds are mainly observed and ringed there. Its former function and current activities give the site a sense of time: bird trapping is part of its history, while observation and ringing characterize its present-day use as described here. If you are interested in nature and migratory birds, this contrast offers a different perspective from the hiking trails and the garden’s art.
