Sant'Orsola offers several ways to enjoy a stay that brings together nature, local history and regional products. Specific destinations include walking and mountain biking trails, the Cascata di Val Pegara and the Museo Pietra Viva. You can plan your trip around what matters most to you: outdoor activities, cultural topics or regional cuisine.

Trails and Nature along the Fersina

Sant'Orsola Terme has numerous trails that can be explored on foot or by mountain bike. The Masi Alti loop starts in the main square of Sant'Orsola Terme and follows Bike Route 2398 from Gheghe. The Sentiero fatato starts at the Museo Pietra Viva in the hamlet of Stefani, descends to the Fersina River and is well marked and fairly easy to walk. The difference is useful when choosing a route: the Sentiero fatato is well marked and fairly easy to walk; for the Masi Alti, the main square, Gheghe and Bike Route 2398 provide orientation.

The Cascata di Val Pegara is a waterfall about 30 metres high near where Val Pegara meets the Torrente Fersina. From Sant'Orsola, it can be reached by an asphalt road near the church; the road runs along the right bank of the Torrente Fersina. Check trail conditions locally before setting out.

Museum, Church and Local History

The Museo Pietra Viva explores the mineralogy and ethnography of the Sant'Orsola Terme area and the Fersina Valley. It is housed in the former municipal building of Sant'Orsola Terme, a 17th-century building painted with natural pigments by Pietro Albertini, a folk painter from Lavis. In addition to its former role as the municipal seat, the building has its own artistic history.

The parish church of Sant'Orsola in Sant'Orsola Terme is first mentioned in 1532. Its entrance is accessible and well signposted. The Segheria Sant'Orsola is also part of the area's history: it was one of the last sawmills to operate in Trentino and continued working until the 1980s. It was associated with a mill and a smithy.

Wild Berries and Regional Produce

Sant'Orsola Terme is known for growing wild berries such as strawberries, blackberries and raspberries. Local shops in Sant'Orsola sell the area's berries alongside mountain-flower honey—from acacia to rhododendron—flavoured grappas and herbal infusions. The selection may vary from shop to shop.

More than 60 cows graze freely every summer on the pastures of Malga Cambroncoi. Raw-milk cheeses, ricotta, Tosella and Caciotte are made there and served at the agriturismo alongside traditional regional dishes. For your trip, these are two different ways to discover regional products: goods from local shops, and cheese and dishes at the Malga agriturismo.
