Raymond combines rodeo tradition and local history with opportunities for swimming, ice sports, beach volleyball, and golf. For trip planning, it helps to consider these topics separately: the rodeo has a set annual date, the museum focuses on the community’s history, and the sports facilities and golf course offer different activities. This makes it easier to tailor your stay to the interests that matter most to you.

Rodeo Tradition and Local History

The first rodeo in Raymond was held on July 1, 1902; it has taken place on this date every year since. Raymond is also known as the home of Canada’s first Stampede. Its annual recurrence connects today’s rodeo with its historic beginnings.

The Raymond Stampede Grounds were rebuilt in 2024 and can accommodate approximately 750 spectators. Rodeo events held there include roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, breakaway roping, and bull riding; the program may vary from one edition to another. So if you want to see a particular event, check the details for the specific edition.

The Raymond Pioneer Museum uses exhibits to bring local history and the community’s past to life for visitors. It was founded in 1989 by the Raymond & District Historical Society. The museum thus complements the history of the event with its own cultural and historical focus.

Swimming, Sports, and Ice Sports

The Raymond Aquatic Centre offers a variety of aquatic and leisure activities. It has two water slides, a climbing wall, and diving boards at heights of one and three metres. Other features include a junior-Olympic-size lap pool, water-play equipment, beach-style zero-depth entry, and a separate toddler area. The facilities combine lap swimming, diving, and slides with playful features. A shaded picnic area is available between swimming activities.

Victoria Sports Park includes three regulation-size multi-purpose grass fields and Comet Stadium, a regulation-size artificial turf field for year-round play and community events. The Beach Volleyball Complex adds three lighted courts for recreational and competitive play. The facilities differ in sport and surface: grass and artificial turf fields sit alongside beach volleyball courts. Comet Stadium stands out within the park for its artificial turf and year-round play; the beach volleyball courts are intended for both recreational and competitive play.

For hockey, skating, and community events, the Raymond Ice Arena offers a full-size ice surface. It complements the fields and beach volleyball courts with a dedicated ice-sport facility.

Golf at Hell's Creek Golf Course

The scenic Hell's Creek Golf Course is a nine-hole course that offers the experience of a full 18-hole course. Each hole has three tee options. A creek runs throughout the course. When exploring Raymond’s golf offerings, you can distinguish the tee options available on every hole from this continuous landscape feature.
