Discover Saint Lucia through its striking landscapes, varied coastlines and historic sites. In the southwest lies the Pitons Management Area, a multipurpose area for conservation and management. Gros Piton and Petit Piton rise 770 and 743 metres above the sea, respectively, and are connected by the Piton Mitan Ridge. The difference in elevation between the two peaks is 27 metres.

Coastlines, Peaks and Green Landscapes

On the island’s west coast lies Anse Cochon, a quiet bay between Soufrière and Canaries. Grand Anse Beach stretches along the east coast. Together, they offer two distinct coastal settings: a named bay on the west side and a beach running along the east side. Grand Anse Beach is also an important nesting site for leatherback turtles in the Caribbean.

The gardens and surrounding vegetation also offer ways to explore different landscapes. Mamiku Gardens is a botanical garden in the hills of eastern Saint Lucia. Latille Falls is surrounded by tropical gardens and rainforest vegetation. A garden in the eastern hills and the garden and rainforest vegetation around Latille Falls provide two different green settings.

The Tet Paul Nature Trail offers views of the Pitons, the Caribbean Sea and the surrounding area. If you plan your trip around viewpoints and scenic landscapes, this destination brings peaks, sea and surroundings together in one specific excursion.

Discover History and Culture

Petroglyphs and various artefacts in the Pitons Management Area bear witness to the history of the Indigenous Caribs, who inhabited the area that is now part of the region. These traces add the region’s Indigenous history to the picture.

Historic sites offer different points of interest: Fort Rodney is an 18th-century British fort on a hilltop. Pigeon Island National Landmark preserves historic ruins associated with the battles between the French and British. Castries Market was established in 1891. Visitors can discover fresh produce, spices, handmade crafts and local specialities there.

Experiences on the Water and at the Estate

At Anse Cochon, visitors can snorkel and dive among marine life and coral reefs. This offers a different focus from the views along the Tet Paul Nature Trail: here, underwater experiences take centre stage, while there, the views encompass the Pitons, sea and surrounding area.
