Culture and Markets in the Town

The COR D'AMETLER route offers a specific cultural itinerary. It comprises five tiles covering the following stops: Casa Pairal de la Família Lladó Sala, La Sala / Ajuntament de Campos, Convent de Sant Francesc de Paula, Església Parroquial de Sant Julià, and Convent de les Germanes Missioneres dels Sagrats Cors. The route therefore includes several named places and buildings rather than focusing on a single building. You can consider the stops together as a framework for the cultural part of your stay.

The Església Parroquial de Sant Julià is a single-nave church in the historicist Renaissance style. Its bell tower dates from the 16th century. This brings two distinct features of the building into focus: its single-nave design and the recorded date of the tower. If you are interested in architecture, this combination provides a specific starting point for understanding the church through more than just its name, taking its form and history into account as well.

The Auditorio Campos offers a different cultural focus. It is a municipal exhibition hall for a range of exhibitions, featuring significant works of painting, sculpture and printmaking, as well as monographic presentations. While the church is described in terms of its architecture and building history, this venue focuses on different art forms and types of presentation. These give you two distinct ways to explore your interest in culture in Campos.

Themed markets are held in Campos for festivals and special occasions. These include a milk market, an art market, an ice cream market and an All Saints' Day market. Unlike permanent architectural features, these markets are tied to specific occasions. A historic music programme is also part of the town's cultural history: the cultural project “Mou-te pel Convent” began in connection with the reopening in December 2017. Nature in the Municipality

Beyond the attractions in the town, natural areas shape the municipality of Campos. The Es Trenc-Salobrar de Campos Maritime and Terrestrial Nature Park includes Posidonia seagrass meadows, dune landscapes and wetlands. These different landscape features show that the municipality's natural attractions are not limited to a single habitat: seagrass meadows, dunes and wetlands are all part of the protected landscape.

Es Trenc beach is also within the municipality. It is almost two kilometres long and more than 20 metres wide. These two measurements give a concrete sense of its size and should be distinguished from the description of the nature park: the beach is a destination in its own right within the municipality, while the park encompasses several types of landscape.

Behind the beach is a wetland that can be explored on a guided visit. More than 170 bird species have been recorded there. This lets you consider the guided visit as a distinct nature experience, without treating it as the same as an independent visit.

The Balneario de Sant Joan de la Font Santa is also located in the municipality. It is considered the only thermal spa with natural thermal water in the Balearic Islands. Together with the natural areas around Es Trenc, it offers another perspective on Campos: alongside coastal landscapes and wetlands, there is also a thermal spa characterised by its natural thermal water.
