If you are considering Pina as a destination for a hotel stay, three separate perspectives can help: the town’s architectural features, the events in the municipal calendar and the cycling route through Pina. This makes it possible to distinguish lasting features of the town from activities with a specific date or recurring schedule.

Architecture and Townscape

At the Font de Pina, a chapel protects the water spring. The combination of a building and a water source gives this spot a distinctive feature. The Neo-Gothic Creu de Pina offers a different perspective: it stands on Carrer de Sineu at the entrance to the town and was classified as a Bé d’Interès Cultural (BIC) in 1963. Its style, exact location and historical classification shape the way the cross is viewed here.

The Convent de les Franciscanes Filles de la Misericòrdia adds another dimension to these impressions through its spatial layout. It consists of two buildings separated by a street and connected by a small bridge. The contrast between separation and connection aptly describes the complex. The three examples have different points of emphasis: the chapel’s function at the Font, the Creu’s style and classification, and the layout of the Convent.

Market, Events and Cycling Route

The municipal calendar lists a market in Pina every Tuesday in the square. This provides a weekly rhythm for planning; confirm the date locally before visiting. The calendar also lists the Revetla de Sant Antoni, with bonfires and communal grilling, for January 16. Check the details for the relevant year before making plans.

In April 2025, Pina got a children’s playground and an outdoor fitness park. If these facilities are important to your plans, check their current availability before visiting. For cycling, the Llogarets del Pla de Mallorca route passes through Pina and reaches the town via the Ma-3130. This makes the route itself another distinct consideration for a stay, alongside the townscape and calendar events.

A Past Festival Programme

The XI Fira de Pina on September 6, 2025, provides a specific example of an announced festival programme. For this edition, all-day stalls selling handicrafts, food and local products were planned. A classic car exhibition on Carrer Major and bouncy castles for all ages on Carrer de sa Font were also scheduled.

A gathering of Xeremier groups was planned in the square at 5 p.m.; a free guided church tour with Xavier Riutort was scheduled for 5:15 p.m. The programme planned a free family show by Banton Circus, featuring juggling and balancing acts, at 6:30 p.m., a free children’s workshop by “Espacio creativo Magdalena” at 7 p.m., and a live concert with Frankadelics & Friends at 8 p.m. These times and activities refer to the announced programme for this edition. For current travel plans, check the relevant dates.

Cultural Highlights in the Wider Destination of Algaida

In the wider destination of Algaida, the Gordiola Museum has a collection of glass from around the world, as well as machines more than a hundred years old that illustrate traditional techniques. The Cossiers d’Algaida perform on certain occasions during the winter festivities of Sant Honorat and the summer festivities of Sant Jaume. The group consists of six Cossiers, the Dama and the Dimoni; the dances are usually accompanied by a flabiol and tamborí. In Algaida, the glass collection and machinery, on the one hand, and the dance group’s seasonal performances, on the other, are distinct cultural highlights.
