They answer different questions: How can you plan a bus journey, what are the features of the nearby swimming spots, and which destinations lie along the coastal route? This can help you decide before booking whether your trip is more about the connection towards Palma, a particular swimming area or the route along the coast.

Bus connection towards Palma

Bus route 504 from Tolleric to Palma serves Son Verí Nou. If you are planning journeys towards Palma, the route is a useful point of reference when choosing your destination. Check the TIB’s current service information for your planned travel date. The bus connection and coastal destinations relate to different planning considerations: the route links places, while the swimming areas and coastal path shape the surroundings by the water.

Nearby swimming areas

Sa Cova Baixa is a quiet swimming area with flat rocks near S’Arenal beach. Residents of the Son Verí and Son Verí Nou residential areas use it. Sa Cova Baixa is also part of the Reserva Marina de la Bahía de Palma marine reserve. Both its rocky shoreline and its location within the protected area are relevant when considering this spot.

Another nearby spot is Caló de Sant Antoni. It lies between Club Nàutic s’Arenal and Calonet d’es Fornàs, at the foot of the Son Verí Nou residential area. With its shallow water in the bay and rocky surroundings, Calonet d’es Fornàs is suitable for snorkelling. Those comparing swimming areas will find different specific features here than at Sa Cova Baixa: snorkelling conditions are the main draw at Calonet, while Sa Cova Baixa is described as a quiet swimming area with flat rocks.

Sa Cova Baixa is also a place for water sports such as stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. This adds activities on the water to the swimming option. When planning, you can therefore distinguish between a visit to the swimming area, snorkelling at Calonet d’es Fornàs and the water sports mentioned at Sa Cova Baixa.

Roca dels Turistes is also nearby. The rock can be reached by a staircase carved into it. Check the current access conditions before your visit if you plan to go there.

Coastal path between s’Arenal and Cala Blava

Paseo de Alfons XIII runs along the coast opposite the Son Verí Nou residential area. The route between s’Arenal and Cala Blava is about three kilometres long and leads to Cala Blava. It provides access to several swimming areas, including Caló de Sant Antoni and Cala Mosques. Cala Mosques is accessed via stairs; you can take this into account when choosing a destination along the route.

The coastal path offers a different way to get your bearings than the individual swimming areas: it follows the coast and passes several swimming spots. When planning your trip, you can use the approximate route length, the swimming areas mentioned and the steps providing access to Cala Mosques as practical points of reference.
