Alella can be planned from different perspectives: wine tradition, cultural history, a self-guided route through the town center, and an off-road sports trail. The Parc de la Serralada Litoral also extends across Alella. Event dates and route conditions should each be considered when planning your trip.

Wine Tradition and Events

At Diumenges de Vins, wine tasting is not the only attraction: the event takes place on the last Sunday of every month, except in July and August, in the courtyard of the Alella tourist office. Each session pairs two DO Alella wines with small dishes prepared by restaurants in Alella. If you plan to attend, check the specific date before your trip.

Diumenges de Most has a different focus. Children learn about wine culture through fun enotourism workshops and taste grape must. The two events therefore differ both in content and target audience: Diumenges de Vins pairs DO wines with small dishes, while Diumenges de Most offers children a fun introduction to wine culture that includes a grape must tasting. Check the exact dates for this event too.

Another part of the region’s living wine-growing heritage is the Festa de la Verema, celebrated every year in September. Visitors can taste wines from wineries and winegrowers in the DO Alella area. Unlike the monthly Diumenges de Vins, the specific dates and participating producers vary with each edition. So coordinate your travel dates with the program for that year’s Festa.

Cultural History in the Town Center

Can Manyé has served several purposes over time: the former farmhouse was converted into a textile factory in the early 20th century and now serves as a municipal cultural center. Its former agricultural use, industrial conversion, and present-day cultural function thus form a sequence over time.

Alella VinĂcola operated as a cooperative from 1906 to 1998. This clearly defined period adds another historical reference point to the story of the town.

A self-guided route through the town center visits notable sights. If you’d like to include several stops in your plans, you can make this a focus of your cultural itinerary. A single cultural site and a route to sights in the town center are thus two distinct options.

Planning Trails and Landscapes

The Parc de la Serralada Litoral also extends across Alella; its special plan designates 4,042 ha as protected land. If you plan a route in the protected area, check its boundaries and the stated area beforehand.

The Parc de la Serralada Litoral office is at Can Magarola, Avinguda Sant Mateu 2, 08328 Alella. If you plan to visit the office, check its location before you arrive.

Off-road sports routes in Alella include the Alella–Turó d’en Galzeran–Camí de la Cornisa–Sant Mateu–Mirador de la Cornisa route. If you plan to cycle there, check the trail surface and conditions beforehand.
