Castellví de Rosanes offers several different starting points for planning a trip: marked hiking and cycling trails, two tourist facilities with views of Montserrat, and sites and traditions with historical significance. The area lies in the surroundings of the Muntanyes del Baix natural area. When looking for a hotel, you can plan your stay around whether you are most interested in the trails, the history, or a festival date.

Hiking and Cycling Trails

Marked hiking and cycling trails along the Eix de Ponent del riu Llobregat run through Castellví de Rosanes. From Castellví, you can follow the Eix towards the Mediterranean or Montserrat. When planning your route, you can combine two decisions: whether you would like to hike or cycle, and which of the two destinations best suits your travel plans.

Els Balcons de Montserrat also offer a connection to the mountain: the two tourist facilities have views of Montserrat. One is at the lower end of Avinguda Mare de Déu de Montserrat, and the other is in the municipal forest area. The different location details help you tell the two facilities apart and associate each with its named location.

Local History and Culture

Castellvell de Rosanes, also known as Castell de Sant Jaume, is a fortress at an altitude of 369 metres. In the Middle Ages, it was the seat of the Barony of Castellvell. Its role as a fortress and its historical administrative function come together here.

Another historical development concerns Miralles Castle: in 1414, it was converted into the Augustinian monastery of Casa de Déu de Miralles. Gothic paintings have been preserved in the Antic convent de Miralles, and the Generalitat de Catalunya has highlighted their significance. Both the conversion into a monastery and the surviving paintings are therefore among Miralles’ cultural points of interest.

Festival Dates and Winegrowing

The Aplec dels Àngels is a recurring religious festival tradition dating back to 1958. It celebrates the feast of Mare de Déu dels Àngels on 2 August. The Festa Major de Sant Isidre takes place on the last weekend in May, or, in election years, on the first weekend in June. For your scheduling, these are two different calendar dates: a fixed date in August and a weekend date that shifts in election years.

Winegrowing is another local feature: in Castellví de Rosanes, it enables the production of wine and sparkling wine. Wine production thus complements the trails and cultural attractions as another point of interest for your stay.

Getting Around and Visiting Conditions

The C-243b road between Martorell and Gelida provides access to the town centre, El Taió and Miralles, as well as the Rosanes industrial estate and the ca n'Abat industrial zone. To find your way around, you can compare this road connection with the area you plan to visit.

The Les Fonts de Miralles area historically included four named fountains: Ntra. Senyora de Gràcia, Sant Josep, Santa Rita de Càssia and Sant Nicolau de Tolentí. A municipal notice updated on 13 March 2026 reported that access had been temporarily closed since February 2026 due to a landslide. Before visiting, check whether a reopening has since been announced.

For Les mines de plom, a municipal notice dated 17 February 2026 prohibits access because the facilities are in a state of disrepair. Follow the signs on site and check for any later notices before visiting.
