Corbera De Llobregat preserves the character of an era more than five hundred years old in its historic town center, along with the way of life in a feudal town. History can be seen here in various forms: in surviving architectural features, religious art, and events that explore historical themes. Trails through forests and over peaks also shape the range of experiences on offer.

Medieval Town Center and Events

The Mercat Medieval takes place over a weekend in July in the historic town center and coincides with the Festa Major de Santa Magdalena. Exact dates may vary; if you would like to plan your trip around the market, check the event dates for your preferred travel period. At the craft stalls, visitors can see how people worked in medieval guilds. The program also includes food stalls, entertainment and magic shows, games, an Arab tent, and a tavern. Individual program items may change over time.

The theatrical routes offered year-round provide another way to learn about history. They tell the feudal history of Corbera using immersive elements; every two months, characters such as the nun, the innkeeper, or the Baron of Corbera appear. The town’s history is thus conveyed not only through buildings and historical references, but also through recurring narrative characters.

Architectural Remains, Art, and Living Scenes

The Castell de Corbera preserves sections of wall, a round-plan tower, and a courtyard. These features are integrated into the walls and terraces of the gardens of the parish church of Santa Maria de Corbera and the Casal de Santa Magdalena. The church has a Renaissance altarpiece from the late 16th century, dedicated to the Virgin Mary del Roser and depicting scenes from the life of Jesus. The architectural remains and the altarpiece represent different facets of the historical heritage: the form of the former Castell and the religious art of the Renaissance.

The Pessebre Vivent de Catalunya is also one of the town’s long-standing cultural experiences. Since 1962, live scenes in motion have been presented along a circular route in a natural setting. Music, Christmas carols, stories, and lighting accompany the performance; the performers wear clothing inspired by Hebrew and Catalan traditions. Its circular-route format and varied narrative elements set this experience apart from a single historic building.

Hiking Trails, Peaks, and Wild Plants

The trails around Corbera pass through forests of holm oaks, oaks, and Aleppo pines. The landscape also includes farmhouses, springs, dry-stone huts, old trade routes, lime and gypsum kilns, and chapels. An urban counterpart is the Sender de Corbera, a walking loop through the historic town center. The Eix de Ponent Interior also branches off from the hiking and cycling network within the municipality; you can choose from the available routes on foot or by bicycle.

Those looking for a challenging mountain hike can take a circular route over the distinctive peaks of Aragall, Roca Foradada, Forellac, Puig d'Agulles, and Montmany. Technical sections and spectacular views characterize the route; it is suitable for experienced hikers. For plant enthusiasts, seasonal guided Rutes d'herbes Silvestres are available. These focus on identifying edible and medicinal wild plants and their culinary and traditional uses—for example, in infusions, flavored oils, batter-fried dishes, or handmade preparations.
